1. check if your front panel is connected to your motherboard at proper port2. check "expert mode" on your via hd audio deck, click "advanced options" and check "redirected headphone" (THIS WILL UNCHECK "INDEPENDENT HEADPHONE") and uncheck "enable front panel jack detection"
this should solve your problem.

Front headphone jack does not work, do not get sound. I have an a1450n HP Pavilion running windows 7 ultimate. Running Realtek High Definition audio drivers. This problem is quite common on the internet....

If you face issue with only front jack then you need to check the connection of front jack to motherboard. For that open cpu cabinet cover. Then find the cable from front sound jack to motherboard. Connect it into right position .You can find diagram on motherboard or in manual. There is some pins on the corner of motherboard. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I have recently had my laptop completly serviced and now i have no sound what so ever and no option of being able to change this please help?

Merry Christmas!

Probably, you have problem with your sound driver. Try to reinstall the driver and see if it works.

Check if the speakers or headphones are connected to Light Green colored socket.

It is possible that after servicing, the engineer may have forgotten to connect the front panel connector, if you are trying to connect your headphones to the front panel connector. Try connecting your headphones to the rear panel connector.

It is also possible that the output device, like speaker or headphone is not plugged in properly or not working. Connect something else like other headphone.
Else give more details about you PC Model no. or Mother Board type.

Surely your headphones are working fine. So it can be either software or hardware problem.

To check if any problem with drivers, go to device manager, uninstall the drivers for audio, and reinstall a fresh piece of audio drivers. Restart the system and now check the sound. If the problem exists, then its hardware problem.

Since front panel and back panel are not working, then it can be the problem with the audio sockets of the motherboard. You have to consult a technician for that.

Hope your sounds get ok with the driver install. Thanks

Headphone problem

Did you installed all drivers ?

Are there FRONT audio jacks you are trying to connect your headphones/mic ?
Dit it work before ?

First install all (incl. audio) drivers and try to get audio from BACK connectors (Green is speakers/headphones, Pink is Mic.)
If it workson on REAR, but not on FRONT connectors, check if you have another icon for AUDIO settings in Control panel and try to set FRONT audio settings.

Check if FRONT audio connectors are connected to your motherboard.

Regards.

Manual!

SOLTEK has gone bankrupt.
Their web-site is "down".
So, there is *NO* "support" available from SOLTEK.

However, the "line out" socket on the back-panel (or the front-panel) can be connected to a set of headphones, if you have the correct cable.

Frontpanel sound

By default, the pins labeled LINE OUT_R/BLINE_OUT_R and the pins LINE OUT_L/BLINE_OUT_L are shortened with jumper caps. You should remove the caps ONLY when you are connecting the front audio cable. So, if you are going to use the back panel, you should short the pins mentioned earlier. You cannot use the back panel and the front panel at the same time. If you want to use your headphones using the back panel, short the mentioned pins and connect your headphones to the green header of your back panel audio. If you want to use the front panel, take off the jumper caps and connect the front panel cable. Remember, if you connect the front panel audio cable, you won't be able to use the back panel. If you are going to use the back panel, don't forget to return the jumper caps. Usually the 5-6 and 9-10 pins. Hope this helps.
