It is having double image. The second image is to the right with red color.

Sounds like a convergence problem. See if you can adjust the customer convergence controls (in the menu).
If you can not adjust one or both the colors than your convergence amp is toast!

It appears to be convergence issues. Red, green,

Projection TV2_bing.gif sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung2_bing.gif, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith2_bing.gif, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit from the link below.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D2_bing.gif
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on - TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash2_bing.gif focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing. If you have never done this before we would advise calling a shop or if you want to do it yourself get a complete kit with instructions and support from www.TvRepairKits.com

Left convergence on mitsu vs-60609

Convergence IC's inside of your TV are nearing end of the life. If during adjustments that you made Red and Blue was moving in all directions (left, right, down, up) than resistors and fuses still probably OK. IC's (part number will start with "STK" and they attached to huge aluminum radiators) have to be replaced and fresh heat sink compound have to be applied.
After that convergence adjustments should not be a problem. And color will stay together for another several years.
regards.
Russ.

It appears to be convergence issues. Red, green, and blue are very seperate. Yoke adjustments will not bring the RGB in. Is this possibly a convergence chip issue?

65" Mitsubishi projection tv, my colors are not matching up.

If red or blue will not adjust in some direction--you have a Convergence circuit problem---

This model (WS-65809) uses two of the STK-392-570 Convergence IC's---

Green for a good reason is not adjustable in the customer mode---it is only adjusted for the Geometry or straightness of the picture and then red and blue are adjusted to it.

If you are able to do this repair yourself you can save the set and a lot of money---most shops charge 300-400 for this type of repair in this set.

You can buy both chips for about 14 dollars on Ebay- and I have step by step---start to finish instructions for this repair in this set--they tell also everything you will need to do and what you need.

If you want the instructions let me know---I am not allowed to post MY email here.....but you.....

Not everyone can do this repair---Let me know if you have any questions or need advice----

If you get someone else to do the repair make sure BOTH chips get replaced or the set will have the same problem again in a few months.

Mitsubishi WS 65511 convergence

Go on line and get an original Sanyo STK 393-110. Next, restore the blue centering rings back to where they were before you moved them. Look at the paint marks on the rings for reference if you are not sure. Replace the IC and check the resistors nearby for signs of overheating and proper value. Also check the fuses that supply the 24v to the IC. The service manual will show you the fuse location and give you the resistor values in the blue horizontal and vertical circuit. Checklist: You need a de-soldering tool or a good quality Dry Wick. Have a small tube of heat sink compound to liberally apply to the new chip. The hardest part will be lining up the double rowed pins on the chip and getting them to seat at the same time. Next, go to the convergence menu and follow the instructions. Good luck! PS you might want to remove the chassis from the cabinet to make it easier. Be careful to unplug the speaker plug and untwist the wire ties from the cabinet. Be very careful, this job is not designed for beginners.
