Well!! I have an answer for you.your comp is loosing the IP address. goto start - programmes - accessories - dos prompt. type ipconfig.you`ll get ip address, subnet mask, default gateway.copy it. goto network and sharing center, click on view status, goto propertiesand double click on internet protocol(tcp/ip) or IPv4.type in the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway.in DNS server address type the default gateway in primary DNS and in secondary 4.2.2.2. ypur connection won`t drop after this. and your laptop is freezing because you might not have got it serviced from a very long time.

If you are running Vista or Windows 7 check the power management options. set them to "High" rather thant the default "balanced" option. Otherwise Windows will shut down your wireless adapter to save power. I had the same problem and after much searching this solution worked for me.

Hi,

It seems your power supply can't supply your computer power as needed so you need to replace your power supply. Use 500 watts pure power supply to avoid this problem.

I have the same laptop with the same issue. I had it fixed last year by fiddling with some settings but after a PC crash, its back.

My approach is:
1) install the newest driver (there is a 5.100 version out which did the trick last time)
2) go to start and type services and enter to see all your services. Look for "computer browser" and "TCP/IP Netbios" and make sure they start automatic. This makes sure they restart when it freezes up. When my card disconnects, i get connectivity back in 40 sec.
3) make sure your adapter settings indicate that the computer should not shut down the card to save power. This seems to work for a lot of people.

My solution isn't 100% bulletproof as i'm still trying to figure out how i fixed it last time but these things should get you going. If you google "Netbios has stopped", you'll find that we're not alone with this problem

It sounds like the wire from your house to the isp switch is faulty you should probably call them down to fix. Or it could just be the modem are you using the same modem for both computers? If so then that's probably the problem.
