Van wont start

This evening, turn on the headlights. If the lights do not come on or are dim, it's likely the battery isn't charged. If the headlights get dimmer when you turn on the A/C or fan on high, then it's likely the battery is not charged well enough. That means either the battery is dead or the alternator is not charging the battery. I presume it is brutually cold (well below freezing) where you are. Test the battery with a voltmeter. 12V is the norm when the car is off. If car is below 12 V, then hook battery up to a charger for several hours or overnight, preferably with the battery in a warm place. If you can get battery voltage back to 12V by charging it, battery is fine and alternator may be bad. When car is running and alternator is working, you should get 15V; othewrwise, alternator is probably bad.

Dash reading battery no charge just brought a new battery and it still reads battery no charge

It probably means the alternator is not charging the battery.
Have you had the alternator checked on the car ?

Charging problem.. Wont charge battery

The instructions for installing a new alternator usually read to fully charge the battery (12.3 - 12.8 volt range). Otherwise, the alternator will be damaged when it initializes. I have seen some extreme damage result from installing a new alternator with a low-charge battery. The torque required to turn an alternator when damaged in this scenario is unbelieveable!

Car won't start even after new battery purchase

Alternator problem, the alternator charges the battery when car is running, so it has probably died now. Was working at reduced capacity for a while, which is why you were only getting a partial charge for some time. Now you have an open circuit completely as alternator has failed completely, time for a visit to an auto electrician. PS replacing acid in battery with distilled water is not a good idea. It probably was time for a new battery anyway.

Wont start

check for battery voltage at the charge post on the alternator and at the 2 wire connect with the key on .if you have it then its a bad alternator. if you have a belt spinning the alternator.

All of a sudden my car won't start, so, I charge it for an hour put it back in and was able to start it. I bought a brand new battery but it didn't work. It only work when I charge it.

Just because you bought it new, doesnt mean it was up to par to install in your car. You charging it brought it up to the necessary power levels required to start. It sounds like the alternator is going out. Check the output voltage and amps with a meter. Anything under 12.3 vlts and 200-300amps, and your alternator is no good.
