Where can I get a shower head that doesn't restrict water flow?
I have low water pressure in my bathroom with no practical plumbing solution. I live in a water disctrict that has abundant cheap water, so I do not want to conserve water to the point of not being able to get the shampoo out of my hair due to weak flow. Yet all Home Depot shower heads come with blocking devices that restrict water flow to 2.0 or 2.5 gallons/min. I do not want an air-charged shower head that uses even less water. I want to be able to access all the water that reaches the shower head before getting restricted. I take brief showers and do not waste water. But I need more than thin spray or unsatisfying trickle I can get with off the shelf shower heads. Sites that sell them overseas, without the "water saver" devices? Thanks

If you are using water in another part of the house most times the pressure at the bathroom shower will go low. For instance if some one in the kitchen draws water in the kitchen sink this will make the shower water even turn cooler because of low pressure. Flushing the toilet will also do the same.
Most houses are plumbed with half inch water pipe and would work a lot better if it was three quarter inch to give more water pressure.
One rule I live by: more parts, more problems. Sounds to me that the plumbing/valves were not insalled properly. If you hired a profesional plumber, have them fix it. I am a licensed profesional plumber and I offer a 1 year warranty on all my work. If the contractor did the work and does not hold a plumbing license, that person is still responsible and may have to suffer legal consequenses.
You could have a restriction in the tub spout or just too much pressure. Diverter only restricts flow to tub spout so any restrictions to the tub spout will cause water to go up to shower head.
Every faucet and shower have a water saving restricter in them. Remove them from the shower head and end of the faucets.
They are about the size of a dime and with about 1/8" hole in them in which water flows out. So the flow is getting restricted from 1/2' flow to this giving you a water saving about a 1.5 gpm.
Below is some more information for the web site please check it out for further help. http://www.inspectapedia.com/water/Poor-Water-Pressure-Diagnosis.htm Poor water pressure just at certain plumbing fixtures? poor cold water pressure, hot water pressure, or both hot and cold water pressure or flow that is observed just at some plumbing fixtures in a building while flow and quantity are good at others suggests that the water flow or pressure problems are local to certain runs of supply piping or to the specific fixtures. Check the following first:
Clogged aerator or strainer on sink faucets - clogging by dirt, debris, corrosion, can significantly reduce both hot and cold water flow at a sink where the strainer needs cleaning or replacement. Unscrew the strainer from the faucet and turn on the water - if the fixture pressure or flow is much better you've probably found the problem.
Look at the aerator/strainer: inspect it, clean it, perhaps soaking it overnight in vinegar to remove corrosion and mineral build-up, or just install a new aerator/strainer.
1 Check if the holes in the hand held shower are not clogged with scum which generally happens over prolonged use. Clean them with a pin.
2 If this does not help, then check the the pipe connecting the shower to the water outlet. It should be clean and not clogged with foreign material which restricts the flow of water.
3 It still it does not help then you may have to fix a booster pump or raise the level of the water reservoir.
Verify the height from the shower valve to the Shower head, the instructions specify the correct distance if it is too short the pressure could be getting up to the shower head.
Perhaps the water pressure it too high at the valve not allowing all the water down the faucet outlet, there are set screws on the sides of the shower valve to adjust the water allowed in the mixing chamber.
Something is restricting the water flow to the faucet, creating enough pressure to send some of the ater supply up to the shower.
