Question about GE GTS22KBP Top Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

My ice machine is not making ice. The machine itself is getting power, the blades rotate around but there is no ice. I unplugged the ice machine then plugged it back in and water came into the tray but only filled up enough for one ice cube. I disconnected the water hose from the wall behind the refrigerator and there is water coming from the wall connection. It seems not enough water is getting to the freezer through the hose. What do I do? Thank you

I have a jcb garden shredder ,after using machine ileft it for acouple of days and it would not go again

Did you look at blade assembly? UNPLUG power cord and then using a flat bladed screwdriver push the blades to see if they will rotate. If they don't look for jam or if twine/string got wrapped around assembly...also spray the blade assembly at both sides with spray lube like wd40...if it is free and you've made sure power and reset button is set, then the problem may be the motor itself. Since they no longer make or have parts, you may be done with this tool. It was never a big seller or performance as a shredder.

My freezer is icing up and water is dripping from the ice. I'm having problems closing the door as a result, and removing frozen food.

Try this, If it is an upright fridge, remove the flont lower vent grill. Ten to one the coils are covered with dust and cobwebs. Not implying anything, mine was horrible. Vacuum all the stuff that has accumulated untill the coil is nice and clean.. Unplug the unit so you don't get into the moving fan blades and don't reach into the space, There are hot componants. Good Luck, Ned

Whirlpool bottom freezer ice maker will only make ice if I pull and then replace the ice container, why?

The ice maker works off a timer that controls the discharge of ice, water fill, etc. Right before the tray discharges ice it is heated slightly so the ice is just slippery enough to discharge the ice. Unfortunately, now and then (for us) a chunk of ice remains in the tray. This chunk prevents the blades from rotating and eventually you have a mass of new ice with the blades in the wrong position. The blades have to be in a certain position for the heater to kick in. You are stuck with cracking up the ice stuck in the tray to get the blades to rotate again. We have an Electrolux ice maker but this problem occurs periodically. The root of the problem is it's failure to heat up the ice tray adequately to discharge ALL the ice. One thing to remember is that next time this happens you have to manually break up the ice in the tray and push the timer advance button until the 2 set of blades are fully closed (hidden) and at 90 degrees. From that point on at least the ice maker can start making more ice.

Snow joe6200j blade does not rotate

First, does the motor make noise like it is spinning. If so, it is probably a broken drive belt between the motor and auger. The attached link shows how to replace the belt (pages 11-12). If the motor makes a humming noise but nothing is moving, something may be jammed. Bring the machine inside to melt any ice, and inspect the auger and belt. If there is no noise, make sure the extension cord has power by plugging something else into it. If there is power, you my have a bad switch or a burned out motor.

MT27 has a noisy fan operation. Doesn't always make the clacking sound, tried leveling the machine, cleaned condenser coils. We bought this unit 2nd had for our church's food pantry to keep the meat cold...

There are a couple of possibilities that could be causing this. I believe it is the fan blade. One could be that bracket that holds the fan motor in places could have loose screws, which would cause vibration. Another is that the mounting for the fan motor to the bracket could be loose. Another could be that the fan blade itself is slightly bent. Check the motor brackets screws, fan mounting screws and the blades. If all those are good, making sure the unit is unplugged you can turn the fan blade by hand slowly to see if it is dragging anywhere on the shroud around the coil or the coil itself. You could slightly bend the "clacking" blade to clear is that is the issue.

The garbage disposal turns on, but the blades are not rotating. It sounds like the motor is not turning over.

Use wood stick or broom handle and see if blades rotate freely.
If blades are stuck, then use wood stick to wedge free the blades.

If blades rotate freely and disposal doesn't work, then disposal has gone bad.
Install new one.

It is still cooling but was making a loud sound unplugged it over night now it seems to be working again, what made sound and will it come back

Good day,
Motors make noise. There are three motors. One behind the rear panel in the freezer compartment.
Another in the back rear of the machine, called a condenser cooling, fan motor, and lastley, the compresssor itself which is locacated in he bottom rear as well.
One reason could be ice building up around the freezer fan motor and hitting the blades of the fan.
If it is a Whirlpool/Kenmore make then that fan motor could be going bad.
But without a make and complete model number that's all the info I can provide.
As well, we'll need to know how long it takes to re-appear, and if it is constant or intermitent noise problem.

Whirlpool ice maker (626662) runs water in and freezes but will not eject ice cubes

Hello there
Here is some things for you to check ok
The motor turns the ejector blades which rotate until they contact the ice. Because the ice is frozen to the mold, it cannot be pushed out and the motor stalls. As the blades continue to press on the ice, the ice mold heater begins heating the mold. Once the ice loosens the ejector motor turns, the mold heater shuts off and the ice is pushed out.
so what i would first do is to check the mold heater to see if it is working
and if this is good than check the motor for the ejector blade and see if it is recieving power if it is have the motor itself checked to see if it is bad ok
I hope that this is very helpful for you there is still a lot more that can be checked but try these first ok
Best regards michael

Iced up Samsung RS21 JGNS Help!!

Defrost the unit and after defrosting, with the unit unplug rotate the fan blade manually using your finger. The fan should rotate freely, the blade should not touch the fan frame. Slow rotation of fan motor can cause icing. Worn out bearing, misalign fan blade, partially burn fan motor can slow the rotation of blower motor. But if the blower operate normally, then the unit may be under charge of refrigerant. Qualified technician is needed with this problem.
