How long does the breaker hold after resetting? You probably have an 'intermittent ground fault' . If the breaker just trips randomly. One way to locate it would be a megger test on all three phases going out to the loads. Any phase that shows a possible ground could help narrow it down. Sometimes, if possible, you can turn certain breakers off and see if your problem goes away.A meter in record mode could be the best solution. Fluke meters have this option and you could monitor the phase voltage and during a 'ground fault' the voltage will drop some and you'll lock in the dip on the meter.

Main electrical panel in office; 1 breaker serves small shed that has its own panel. Main circuit to shed trips. No breakers INSIDE shed trip -- only breaker in office that serves shed.

You have a short between the main inside breaker and the outside breaker. Not easy to say definitely what or where.
It should be easy to check with a multi-meter. If you are not proficient with a meter, get an electrician.
Cut the power off inside. Secure it so no one can accidentally turn it on. Take the breaker panel off in the shed and measure ohms on the wires going back to the main panel. Measure from phase to phase and each phase to ground. One of those readings will be zero or very low ohms. The correct reading should be
meg-ohms/infinity.

Main breakers keeps blowing what is the reason i had the electrical company check there stuff up to the house said everything was ok no smaller breakers are blowing just the 200 main is it possible i did...

Add up all the amps from active breakers. Do they add up over 200? If not, then I suspect a bad main breaker. If they do, then you need a larger service box and or main breaker.

Have fed pacific 100 amp main [rh13100 na ni ] that gets hot when ac,washer&dryer are all on,just started to trip main ?

Rich, This may sound obvious, but either the main breaker is acting normally because the load is near 100 amps, or it's defective. If it seems that the loading conditions have not changed from prior years, then you have probably been close to the 100 amp level before and a small amount of corrosion has occurred over time (accelerated by the heavy loading). The cleanliness and tightness of connections is critical to carrying loads at rated capacity. If you are close to the rated load, then replacing the main will buy you some time (but probably not as much as the original because the bus bar connection to the main is probably slightly corroded too) but it won't solve the problem - you will need to upgrade to a higher amp service. On the other hand, if you can calculate or measure the total load and you aren't near 100 Amps, then you just need to replace the main. One other thought. If you have a significant part of the load that is not 220V, then it you might have a higher load on one phase than the other, and could possibly be remedied by switching phases on some of the branch circuits. You only have to exceed 50 amps on one phase to trip a 100 amp main. Good luck, Al K

As soon as we close down the lid the circuit breaker trips off ! our model is the 505048 passthrough dishwasher ck 0777

There is a short circuit in the electric system in the dishwasher. As soon as you shut the hood, the circuit is completed and causes the breaker to trip.

You will need a technician to find the leaky part. Most likely the water is leaking into the motor / pump area causing a short circuit.

Best to disconnect from the mains and check for leaky gaskets. I believe this uses a 3 phase 400V which can be converted to single phase. So also make sure there is no unbalance in the mains power phases if you are using 3 phase supply.

Can tree limbs touching/rubbing against the wires coming from the utility pole cause the 100 Amp Main circuit breaker to trip????

yes,if it has worn the insulation through on one or more of the hot phase conductors to the neutral phase wire, but also check the neutral busbar in the breaker panel for a high resistance connection as this will also trip the main breaker

Whenever i switch it on at the mains breaker trips

The electric is hooked up wrong. Sounds like ypou have a leg of power hooked up to ground. Check to see if you have single, or three pase at the outlet, and the oven is the same. If the breaker is a 3 wide the power is 3 phase. If you hook up an oen to 3phase that is only single phase, you are connecting one leg of power to ground. The breaker will trip every time you use it.Look on the tag on the oven, it will say 1ph, or 3ph. If outlet has 3 slots, and the oven is 1ph it is hooked up to incorrect voltage. Contact me for clarification if needed

Trips breaker

If it trips the breaker you MUST have an Earth fault and or a short circuit to Neutral/Earth. You must get a Registered Electrician to look at it.

200 amp trips

So one leg of your 220 was hot to the touch. If this wire is coming from your meter and going into the top of the main breaker. Be careful, it is hot and there is nothing you can do to kill the power from it. I would suggest getting a qualified electrician with the proper tools to see if the lug is loose on the breaker. If the wire is not tight in the lug that will produce heat.
