I have a Belkin wireless ruter

To reset the Belkin back to the defaultsettings -
Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and thenpower for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open abrowser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter)You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. check your ruter .. log to your rutter end see what is in ssdi.. what nameing? see securtiy also... check your wirreles adapter , maybe new driver for vista needs o be install

In order to change the wireless security password of your Belkin wireless router F5D7234-4 , please follow these setps

1. Open up the internet explorer in the computer in which you are online and clear the address bar and type in the number 192.168.2.1 and hit enter.

2. You will be logged into the Belkin router setup page .

3. In the left hand side, under the heading wireless click on Security

4. It will ask for a password to login, leave the password as blank and click on Submit, then you will be find the wireless security page where you can change or check your old password

WIRELESS SECURITY ISSUES

IF THE ROUTER CAME WITH A BELKIN ROUTER MONITOR .... PLEASE UNINSTALL IT FROM THE CONTROL PANEL

Step 1 : Connect Router - Computer ( Wired)

Step 2 : Open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 3 : On the left under wireless click wi - fi protected setup

Step 4 : Leave the password blank and click on submit

Step 5 : Disable it and Click on apply changes

Step 6 : On the left under wireless click Security

Step 7 : Enable 64 Bit WEP

Step 8 : Type a 10 digit number on the key 1 ( 2 in each box )

Step 9 : Click apply changes

Step 10 : on the left under wireless click channel and SSID

Step 11 :Change the Wireless channel to 6

Step 12 : Change the SSID to a different name ( no Spaces )

Step 13 : Click apply changes

Step 14 : Now Scan and connect to this network ( Wireless )

Power-off your cable-modem (or DSL-modem).
Use an Ethernet cable to connect from the modem to the WAN port on your router.
Use another Ethernet cable to connect from one LAN port on your router to the network-port on your computer (desktop/laptop).
Turn the modem on.
Turn the router on.
Turn the computer on.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like:
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 1234.678.0.1
Start Internet Explorer
Type http://1234.678.0.1
to access the web-server "inside" the router.
Run the Network Setup Wizard.
Run the Wireless Networking Setup Wizard,
to pick an SSID, an encryption-level (use 'WPA')
and to pick a network-password.
Now, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer, and try using the wireless-adapter inside your computer.

ok both computers will need a wireless card or stick you will need to install the software that came with them on both computers, them insert or hook up your cards after you do that you will need to open the software you installed and have it find available netorks if you see yours click on ( connect to) if you have enabled wep you will need to enter your password it should connect

Once you change the encryption setting in the router you also need to change the wireless encryption settings in the wireless card on your laptop with the same router encryption setting so the laptop can communicate with the router wirelessly.

There must be security on the wireless network and you might be typing the wrong password of the wireless network .
Or your computer is not getting IP address from the router.
First Check the wireless network key or the passphrse.

Try resetting your router to defaults.
