Samsung LED TV (UN39FH5000FXZA) has audio, but does not have backlight. I replaced the power supply/ LED board with no success, could this be caused by the main board or the t-con board?

I did the flashlight in a dark room test and can see the image. Based on this I assumed it was the led drivers that failed. I have replaced the power supply/LED board (BN44-0066A L40GF_DDY) with no success. Could this be the caused by the T-Con board or the main board?

    Hi, Matt. I'm in almost the exact same situation, although different model Samsung TV. I replaced the power supply board with the LED drivers, but no dice. I'm wondering if you ever replaced your LED strips, and whether that worked for you? I hate to keep shelling out money, but my 40" LED TV (UN40J6200F) was around $400 two years ago. Barely used--definitely didn't get my money worth! Thanks, -Joel

Hi Matt,
The fault lies with the backlight LEDs. It is common with these sets. If you open the panel and replace the failed LEDs, or replace the panei.

I have a Samsung UN39FH5000FXZA TV with no picture but sound. With a flashlight I am able to see the picture on the screen. I replaced the LED driver/power supply board and have the same problem.
I will test the back lights first.

To test the back lights, you need to disconnect the cable between the main power supply & the main board, apply the AC power to the power supply, if the back lights are not light up, the back light are defective.

Lamps in the panel are bad...DON'T order the power supply like someone says on about every post he answers before testing the LED lamps or you will waist a lot of money.

Shorted power supply is the likely cause, but test it before you just throw a new board in, personally I would just replace the TV, just bought a 49" LG 4K for $278.00, the parts are likely going to cost more.

I have a 32 inch Samsung TV that is only two years old. When you press the power button, it sounds like it it turning on and the red light comes on but the screen is black and there is no sound.
Main board is bad since it works with both video and audio. Ur backlights are ok so that omits the inverter board. And the T con board is for video only - since you have hassles with audio and video that leaves the main board. Do not think it is the power supply since your inverter board is powering up the back lights.

Since you have replaced the LED board and you can still see a faint menu screen, this would indicate the LEDs have blown! Replace the backlight LEDs.
