How do you clean the lint filter area?

My Bosch Nexxt electric dryer works fine but how do you clean the lint filter area? I can pull the filter and clean it but there is always lint (even coins!) in the bin.

My method of cleaning is to take a long swiffer or attach tape and hope to get as much as possible. There has got to be a better way!

same problem with lint area. I can clean the filter, but there is a tremendous amount of lint stuck in the area where the filter goes. Consequently, the clothes take forever to dry and I get an overheating sign pop up. I think this is a design flaw. Can anyone help?

I have the same problem with the lint filter. There is not a vacum attachement long enough and skinny enough to get down there and get it out. Does the front come off?

I have the exact same problem. It appears to me that there is a design flaw with this dryer. I am constantly getting an Error 01 message that means the lint filter is clogged yet it is when the filter is clean. Like others who have commented. I can see the lint below the trap but can not get to it...with vacuum, swifter or anything since the slot is too narrow.

How do you remove the front of the dryer to get to the filter area to clean and get at the temperature sensor for replacement?

Is there a way to enter and find the service codes for the dryer?

I have the same problem with the lint clogging at the bottom of the filter area. I have tried un-screwing the front plate but you still can't get at the lint. I will try the vacuum trick to see if that solves the design flaw!

I bought 2 ft of 5/8" OD x 1/2" ID clear flexible vinyl tubing at the hardware store. I could squeeze it into the narrow tip of our vacuum cleaner and then used that setup to clean while my wife held a flashlight. I could direct the tubing where I wanted it to be.
At another point, I had dropped a small plastic tube into the area; I removed this with a "wire/spring" wrapped "picker upper" (sorry, I don't know it's official name) with three prongs at one end that were moved in and out by a plunger at the other end. Don't know if this would work with a penny, though.

Bosch in their manual suggests using a vacum with a narrow tip to go into the hole and remove the build up.

I hate this dryer overall..but, re: the lint: i purchased a long bristol brush from brookstone that is made for these kind of situations. It kind of looks like a long "rifle" cleaning barrel. it helps alittle. just stil it in the dryer and keep turning the handle and try to collect lint as possible. overall..i hate this damn dryer plus it takes forever to dry approx: 1 1/2 hrs to dry one load. my bosch washer model wfmc 6400 series sucks shakes constantly throught out the entire wash..and drain cloggs alost.

Your dryer vent is probably in need of cleaning. If the exhaust is not clear than your dryer will struggle to dry the clothes

Dryer Does Not Turn On

Ensure that the dryer's power supply cord is firmly plugged into an electrical outlet.

Inspect the structure's fuse box for a tripped fuse. Each fuse is assigned a single "On/Off" switch. If any fuse switch is in the "Off" position, flip that switch to the "On" position. If the problem persists, contact a professional electrician.

Press the "Start/Stop" button on the left side of the dryer's control panel.

Close the dryer door firmly so that the door clicks into place. The dryer will not operate if the door is not shut.
Lint Filter

Clean the lint filter. Twist the program selector knob on the control panel to the "Off" position, then open the dryer door. Pull the lint filter out of the dryer. The lint filter is located at the front of the dryer's tumbler, and is inserted vertically into the dryer. Gently stroke your hand over the filter to clear the lint, then reinsert the filter and close the door.

Turn the dryer off and allow at least 30 minutes for the dryer to cool, as excessive heat can cause a drying program malfunction.

Increase the ventilation of the room the dryer is located in, such as by opening a door or window. Excessive heat will cause the dryer to automatically turn off until it cools as a safety measure. Increasing the ventilation will help keep the dryer cool.
Clothing Not Fully Dry

Clean the moisture sensor. Open the dryer door to access the moisture sensor. The black-colored sensor consists of two bars, and is located at the front of the dryer's tumbler, to the left of the lint filter. The sensor should be cleaned with a clean cloth and white vinegar once per month.

Clean the lint filter. Twist the program selector knob on the control panel to the "Off" position, then open the dryer door. Pull out the lint filter. The lint filter is located at the front of the dryer's tumbler, and is inserted vertically into the dryer. Gently stroke your hand over the filter to clear the lint, then insert the filter back into the dryer and close the door.

Spin the laundry at a higher spin speed in the washing machine before placing the laundry into the dryer to reduce the moisture content.

Turn the dryer off and allow at least 30 minutes to pass for the dryer to cool, as excessive heat can cause a drying program malfunction.

On my Bosch Nexxt 500 Series Electric Dryer keeps shutting off and gives the E-01 error we have check the exhaust air duct on back of the dryer and we have vacuumed the inside bearing shield what else...

Motor won't work
Lint screen hi-limit (thermal cutout) tripped.
Clean lint screen and clean lint and other debris from front shield, then replace hi-limit. Also check exhaust duct length & # of elbows.
Wire harness failed.
Run resistance or continuity checks to track down broken wire or connector. Replace failed wire harness.
Display shows "E:01" during drying.
Lint filter, air duct or air damper is blocked.
Air leaking past felt drum seal.
Air duct is too long, too small or has too many bends. Inadequate ventilation around dryer (i.e. in a closet).
Clean out filter, air duct and air damper.
Replace felt drum seal. If seal doesn't fit snugly onto drum, wet felt and dry it by running a timed dry cycle for 20 minutes (felt will shrink and fit drum snugly).
Shorten, enlarge, reroute and reduce # of bends in air duct. Move dryer to an area

Bosch Nexxt Dryer gets warm but laundry doesn't get dry. Dryer stops after about 10 min of running and starts ''beeping''

this could be a faulty moisture sensor. try running the dryer in a timed dry mode and see what happens.also be sure to make sure all the duct work is free and clear and that the lint filter is clean

Dryer not working, indicates "lint filter" When I try to use the dryer (Bosch Nexxt), i first turn the dryer to the setting desired (regular or perm press, and time) it immediately has the "lint filter"...

This is a common complaint with this dryer. The probe generating this problem,is at fault. It likely has a film on it,from the dryer sheets.Remove the lint screen, and wipe down the probe that sticks into the air box.Should fix the problem,if not ,replace the probe.

Bosch Nexxt 800 series dryer E01 error

My wife has a Bosch Premium dryer that had drying problems. The lint filter would get cleaned but the machine still did not operate correctly, as you explained above. Her machine was made in 2005 and the lint screen, the plastic slotted unit in front of the lint filter was the problem. It gets clogged up with hair/lint that never makes it to the filter. I tried a shop vac to vacuum it but the problem was still there. Get a pistol cleaning kit for a 22 cal gun. Pull the lint filter out & then take the pistol rod and insert it from the drum side into each slot and pull out the tons of lint. Pull the lint off the rod when done and take a flame to burn the rest off as the rod is a brass brush with small wires on it.

Maybe the vent chamber is plugged (considering you have kept the filter clean) Pull the filter out, and look down in the unit for excess lint. You may have to move the dryer to clean it all out.

Bosch dryer not workin

Sounds like the dryer needs a good cleaning inside the workings area. Have a technician take it apart, and have a vacuum handy to **** up all the lint. While in there, he can check the working parts.
