You need to get a reader/writer like this one; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... I use this one because it support all the latest formats. Older readers might not read the SDHC (High Capacity) format and you don't nead that. Pop the reader into a USB port and the card will show in File Explorer just like a hard drive. Right click it and select Format. Go with FAT32 format for most storage cards.
Post back if it is not working we will be happy to help you. Hope this helps. Cheers!!!!
There are no 8GB SD cards. Cards this size are SDHC (High Capacity). SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.
No, it's a hardware issue. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity), but the card reader in your machine is clearly only compatible with the older type SD cards. SDHC devices will accept SD cards, but devices designed solely for SD cards cannot read or format SDHC cards.
There is no firmware update for this, your only fix is to buy an external reader compatible with SDHC cards for connection via a USB socket. Most new readers are fully SDHC compliant, but check the specs for shelling out your hard-earned...
Hi, I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig. If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards. The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.
Have your My Computer window open and re-insert the card into the reader. If it doesn't show immediately, then right click and choose refresh. It should show up then.
