Question about LaCie Design by F. A. Porsche 160 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

I disconnected my computer to move it and when I reconnected it I can no longer access my external HDD. The computer recognises a mass storage device but says that the device can not start (code 10). I've tried updating the driver but that does not work. I've also uninstalled the unit and restarted the computer but I still come up with the same error. There is definitely power into the HDD but it just does not seem to want to work.

Sometimes when an external device has an unexpected loss of power, the computer has trouble accessing the drive after power has been restored. In Device Manager, try re-assigning the drive to anoter letter. What can happen is the computer has reserved a spot for the external although it is having difficulty accessing it. If you're able to re-assign the external drive, you should be able to access it.
p.s. this is very common with external drives formatted in FAT.

How to fix error code 150-3039 on wiiu

Error Code: 150-3039 means there is a problem with with your external storage device. It is most common when you are using an external hard drive that does not have a separate dedicated power supply. It either isn't getting enough power or the hard drive has other problems. Try powering off your Wii U, disconnecting your external HDD, and running the system without the drive. It should work. Then power off and reconnect your external drive. If you receive the error message again then you should look into getting new external storage. My Levro 3 ebook reader has stopped working, my computer will no longer recognise it as a mass storage device and i cant find the device drivers anywhere on the internet what should i do?

Hello,
I suggest that you update the driver of your ebook reader. You can try scanning your computer with RadarSync. It will look for the updates of all the drivers in your computer and you can use the same software to update them all.

You can access the software here. www.radarsync.com

I hope this helps!

Hello,

Go back on Device Manager, right-click the HDD and choose 'Uninstall'. Go through this then unplug and plug back in the HDD. Hopefully if the drivers you downloaded are installed it will recognise it first time.

The external hard disc is not detected by the computer

Please Check in Device Manager
To Open Device Manager, Right Click My Computer icon and click on Properties. No click Tab called Device Manager. In open window please look at last entries that may be " Universal Storage Controller. and IS there any Entry Looks like MASS STORAGE Device with Yellow Mark on. IF yes then right click on that click un install and re- plug HDD.

Also please check whether LED is blinking or not in HDD. if not then try check by replacing USB cable.

If this is a USB unit, and you have moved the plug from one port to another, this situation occurs. I would disconnect it, reboot the PC and reconnect it again.
Good luck!

My computer does not recognise my CECT i9 phone

Switch the phone on, then connect. You should have 3 options; Mass Storage, Webcam and PictBridge. Select Mass Storage. Depending on your system on your PC will connect immediately or maybe (older model) ask for driver. Driver for mass storage is 'generic' so will install automaticaly. After that go to 'my computer' and there will be 2 (!!!) new 'drives', the first one the external card on your phone, the second one the internal drive of your phone.

USB Drive no longer responding

Ok,

So it wasn't obvious damage then lets do the next step, Right-Click on My Computer, then select Manage, when the MMC opens select Device Manager on the left side, Open USB Devices and look for USB mass Storage controller. If it is not there then it's likely the controller board in the Verbatim shell is dead.

If that is the case, your best bet will be to drop by a local computer store and purchase an empty HDD enclosure to move the drive into.

If it does show up as a USB mass storage controller but not as a drive the problem is more likely in the circuitry of the HDD itself and you may require the assistance of a data recovery pro.

Which drivers for USB External Hard Drive ?

Well, Occam's razor philosophy!  I just tried on my 250 Gb IOMEGA external HDD on Win98 and it worked. "Mass storage" jargon driver does NOT work. HOWEVER if you declare it as "USB FLASH DISK", it WORKS, (after computer reboots), though not that speedy. Anyway, you can do your job. Now if you have found any better solution, please forward it at oratiara@hotmail.com. Thank you!

I/O DEVICE ERROR

I/0 error, IS AN INPUT/OUTPUT ERROR. this device is formatted as FAT32 as it is usable on all OS. however if you formatt it to the faster, safer NTFS format, it will only work on 2000, XP etc. so firstly is the device being "seen" by windows? as in does the plug and play connect device sound play? or the green arrow and card icon appera in the bottom left corner? if it doesnt your computer may not have a mass storage device installed, or a driver for it, go into your device managment and click rescan plug and play and if nothing comes up click, view hidden devices, and select the correct driver, by either manually selecting the mass storage or Hdd driver or letting windows find one on the net or locally. if this still doesnt fix things, be aware that external HDD us ealot of power, and some USB ports dont give enough power for the HDD to wind up enough speed to operate. try using a different port, 2.0 not 1.0 as i have found power draw issues with 1.0 USB and/or get a shorter, foot long or less cable. good luck.
