Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

Live image on PC

Can I to use a digital camera to input a full resolution live image to a PC, just like a view finder. Then I can use a "Prt Scr" command to capture the image. Is there a digital camera that can do this?
Thanks
karol

Thank you for your help. Now at least I know my current camera will not work.

looks like some, not all, SLR digital cameras, 2 Cannon models and a few others, are capable of remote capture. Will try it when I can.

Yes some of the Canon's can do this using a small program called "RemoteCapture". See the link to try it out:

depends on what you are trying to do. it you think that this will print the screen to the printer you are wrong. Print Screen will print the screen to the clipboard for you then to paste it into a new image of a graphic program

try this hit prt scr then open ms paint. hit ctrl+v and you will see the image you "printed"

D80 Monitor does not function as view finder.

To be able to do what you want, your camera would have to have a feature called "live view"....yours does not.

D60 Digital Camera: I put a picture on my view finder as a background ...

What you're describing is a feature called "live view" (or more accurately "live preview"). It enables the user to treat the LCD like a viewfinder to compose shots just like on any digital compact camera.

Although many newer digital SLR's now have live view, the D60 does not so you cannot achieve what you want. All that the LCD is for is to view photos already taken and to provide camera menus and information in all other modes. Composing the images before pressing the shutter is done solely via the optical viewfinder.

My canon eos 100D wont's show the image on the screen. it will take the picture when looking through the view finder, but i would like it to appear on the screen. pleae help

Unlike compact point and shoot cameras, Canon's range of EOS D-SLRs don't have the LCDs stay on all the time. The design of the SLR camera involves a mirror in front of the sensor. The mirror in its normal position inhibits the image to be captured by the image sensor. When you shoot, the mirror flips up for a split second and back to its rest position.

To use "Live View" (composing shots with the LCD), there is an option in the Menu to enable it. Once enabled, press the centre "Select" button behind the camera to activate the LCD. However, the camera can't Auto Focus for you in Live View mode so manual focusing input is required of the photographer.

How to take a picture using display instead of view finder

I don't believe there is. Nikon call it Live View in other models, but its not mentioned in the D40 user manual.....

here's the full manual, if you'd like it.

Lcd and view finder stay black

Due to ccd imager chip failure in DC-F717 camera, you do not get live view to take pictures in LCD and view finder. CCD imager chip will be replaced to correct that problem, Sony offers free of cost repair for same problem in this model. Click Sony CCD Imager Support for details.
Thanks.

Have canon rebel xti digital 400d--how do i see live image prior to shooting on lcd monitor

This Canon model 400D or XTi does not have Live view capability in the LCD screen, so you cannot do it.

You have to use the view finder to select the image that you want to capture with it.

If you need a Canon DSLR camera with Live View capability, you need to try other different model such as the T1i or XSi.

LCD on - view image prior to taking photo

The feature you are referring to is called "Live View mode".

This is NOT available on the Nikon D80, and was only introduced on the D90, which is available now.

Live View mode allows you to use the LCD screen as your view finder instead of using the eyepiece, but unfortunately, this feature is not available in your model.
