Optical Wheel Mouse Freeze-up

Hi - while on the internet my mouse started acting up and then just wouldn't work at all. I connected another regular wheel mouse and that also is acting up but hasn't frozen-up. I did an uninstall and still nothing. I have Winodows XP Home and the mouse is a Nexxtech, Model No. NXX200. I also opened up my pc and cleaned it, but still to no avail. Can you help me, please.

Re: Optical Wheel Mouse Freeze-up

Not sure what make mouse you have. Is it a wireless mouse? If so then it probably is the double AA batteries are needing to be replaced. Bud

Yes. I didn't realize my cordless mouse DOES take batteries. It was difficult to find where the compartment opened up. I replaced with new, everything PERFECT NOW.

I just bought my mouse FHA-3410. i connect he usb, my red optical ligh its working, but the mouse cursor dont't works. Thanks

Sometimes if you have the optical mouse on Black pads, that can be a problem. Sounds as you have the battery in right, Have you tried rolling the wheel, to make sure it isn't out of sight? Now if you had to install software for the mouse. Take out the receiver, (USB part) then uninstall the software. Then restart your computer, then if you have the software, run it, I wouldn't put the USB part in until it tells you to, then leave it , you may also want to try a different USB port this time. Reinstall follow directions, it should work. Hope this will help you,

What are the Pros & Cons between a ''Optical Wireless Mouse'' and a ''Laser Wireless Mouse''

The difference between a regular optical mouse and a laser mouse is the light used to track movement. A regular optical mouse uses an LED light in the optical engine, while a laser mouse uses a laser to track movement. The more dots per inch (dpi) a mouse can track, the more sensitive and accurate it is. A typical optical mouse tracks between 400dpi and 800dpi, while laser mice track more than 2,000dpi. Neither is really better; it all depends on your needs and preferences. Unless you're a gamer or a graphic artist with a need for precise movement, you'll probably find a 2,000dpi laser mouse too sensitive. Many gaming mice, however, allow you to switch sensitivity levels so that you have precision when you need it but can revert to 400dpi or 800dpi for regular mousing. Besides their tracking speeds, laser mice work on nearly every surface, whereas optical mice may experience trouble tracking on black or shiny surfaces.

Wireless keyboard and mouse freeze more and more frequently

Try pressing the green button on the mouse receiver and the green button on the bottom of the mouse. I believe that they serve to connect to each other. Mine went out when I changed the battery. Sometimes I think that my computer acts funny when the wireless parts pick up some stray signals from the neighbors. At least that happened to my garage door when the neighbors installed some new wireless computer equipment!!

Why does my mouse freeze?

Possibly a bad mouse.  Either try another mouse on that same port or try that mouse on another computer.  If you want to, try that mouse on another USB port on your computer

Optical mouse

Yes you may use your regular keyboard if it plugs into the keyboard port the the wireless mouse plug into a usb port.

Depending on how the wireless mouse/keyboard reciever plugs into your computer. it's either it splits into one keyboard plug and one mouse plug OR just on usb plug.

Mouse Problems

it's possible that your connector isn't properly seated and/or getting a good connection and the large amount of mouse movement that games like Counter-Strike require could be causing it to unseat and reseat sporadically. If your model is a USB unplug and plug it back in "firmly". also you can try using a different USB port.

The reason it's taking 10-15 seconds is because windows is uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse in your hardware profile every time it loses connection. Since this is a fairly memory intensive operation as far as windows goes and you're already playing a video game (which are notorious for using large amounts of RAM and CPU time) that's just how long it's taking.

If unplugging and reinserting the cable doesn't work, your best solution would most likely be to simply go out and buy another mouse.

Mouse stopped working, but appears ok, batteries ok, can't determine problem

Is the batteries good. If so try,

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud
