My computer will not restore with the F11 key

Unless referring to the old legacy keyboard that you have already mentioned

Assume the USB keyboard was purchased & supplied with the Vostro 200?
If correct then it will have a USB 2.0 cable connector

Do not connect USB keyboard using indirect adapters/hubs etc.

Ensure the USB keyboard is connected directly to one of the USB Root Hub ports, (e.g. one of the rear panel USB ports) before you power on the PC

Does tapping the F2 key during boot loading allow access to System Setup (BIOS) Settings?

Ctrl+F11 will not work if you have previously done an XP Clean Install or deleted/modified partitions

If keyboard is OK then you may have to do a Windows XP Clean Install
Also note that tried to do a system restore by going into Start--> All Programs --> Accessories --> Systems Tools --> System Restore t
OR

If it is there you will have to start the computer, press F8,choose "Repair Your Computer"

I have a nexxtech 7 port usb 2.0 hub which prevents boot to windows. Incompatible?

This hub is USB powered through your computer while you are using the first ports available. If you use ALL at once ports you will need to add the appropriate AC/DC external power adapter to supply the needed extra power.

USB hub problem.i have a 4-way USB powered hub that has taken it upon itself not to rustle up every now and again on boot-up. Power LED is on but the four green LED's are out and everything connected to it...

Perhaps the problem is not with the powered USB hub but rather the USB port it is plugged into, or the cable connecting them.
Plug the USB hub in using a different USB port on your system or connecting it using a different cable to see if that makes any difference.

My WinXP computer doesn't recognize the drive when powered on and connected to a USB 2.0 port

Do you have the service pack update for the XP Os there is a second version. There are some othere tricks you need to try 1. only connect it to a stand alone usb not a bridge there maybe a power issue for the OS so boot it connected directly to the box not threw a usb hub. If this doesnt work Validate all drivers and system updates ( and specifie the drive, size and brand) (Good Luck)

I have Hp Compaq nx 6110 Laptop everything is ok boot system normal no any error but just laptop move any where then system stuck and only way of power off and second problem is "power surge on hub port: a...

1st prob. - I appears there is a loose connection problem somewhere - try reseating your RAN and hard disk.
Try to determine which part of the laptop is causing the problem, not moving the laptop around the room but by flexing different parts of the laptop and power cable etc. while it is on your table.

2nd prob -
Some USB devices draw more power than the USB port can provide and you get the error message - "exceeded power limit".
In these cases you will need to purchase a powered USB hub, connect this hub to the laptops USB port and connect the offending USB device into the powered USB hub.

Windows will not boot

Your PC will be set to boot from USB first. Go into the BIOS and set the PC to boot from hard disk first. Respond here if you need to know how to do this.

Hi-speed USB device plugged into non-hi-speed USB hub

Hi Shiva,

Did you try to boot into your BIOS and check the settings for your USB port? Often you can set the compatibility mode there.

Secondly, try to connect the usb device to different USB ports on your PC, they might not all be connected to the same controller (front or rear for example).

XP-SP2 hangs on boot after installation

I think maybe better uninstalling driver, but leave card in and boot system and let windows find the card(hardware) first instead of wot sounds like windows looking for driver and freezing in the boot up process as it will look for a connection to internet for an update or driver. Normally any usb periferals should be connected after driver installation, but any pci or agp cards inserted first, then driver.
