I need a software to install my webcam.. so i can use it

If you webcam is external (connects via usb) it should have came with a install disc. If no install disc came with your webcam. You will be able to download it from the official manufacturers website (without knowing what make your webcam is i cannot provide the nessecary links)

If your webcam is built in. You will again need to go to your manufacturers website (make of laptop) and follow the simple instructions to find the nessecary driver for your webcam.

Hope this helps and please rate. If you require anymore info (links etc) please provide me with the make model etc. Thanks

What do i go to to install the webcam

Hi!

If it's an integrated webcam, use the drivers/software disc that came with the laptop and install the webcam drivers/software. Alternatively, go to the laptop manufacturer's website, look for your model and download the corresponding software for your webcam - then install it.

If it's a Plug-and-Play camera (USB), use it's disc before connecting the camera - and install the software. Once done, restart the computer (highly recommended), and then connect the webcam to any free USB port. The drivers should be installed automatically - and you can begin using your webcam!

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.

Best regards,
Pelu.

I WANT TO INSTALL A NEW WEBCAM

Any USB webcam should work with all Windows based laptops. For Mac laptops you have to look at the webcam support page to see if it can support Mac or not. All you need to do is plug it in the USB port and when prompted to plug in the driver disc, just put the disc that came with the webcam in the drive and your all set.

I have a wireless notebook computer and was wondering how to hook up my webcam

Most webcams are USB, so just plug it into your computer and it should recognise it, or maybe you got a software disc with it, in which case install the disc first and attach the webcam to your USB port, hope that helps.

The install disc will not complete

You can go to the website to download the install disc here is the link and the instructions. If that doesn't work I would assume the cam is not compatible with vista.
http://www.manhattan-support.com/driver-multimedia.shtml#460064
  1. Make sure that the USB web camera is physically disconnected from your computer.
  2. Insert Driver CD into cd-rom drive and allow autorun menu to appear.
  3. Proceed with installation by explicitly following steps 1 through 3 of the autorun installation menu, restarting where necessary.
  4. Connect the USB Web Camera to your PC.
  5. Allow time for Camera drivers to be detected and installed. Ignore all Windows logo certification (or similar) messages and proceed with installation.
Click on Windows Start Menu and execute the Pharoah Eye software application.
Note: make sure it is unplugged before you begin installation.
Good luck,
Lee

Webcam wont load

Hi,

If the two (cam + laptop) have not worked together before, it might be due to drivers problems. Most drivers are very OS specific. In some instances Vista has been known to have USB and/or compatibility issues. On the otherhand XP sometimes requires that you uninstall the old drivers, reboot before (re)installing new drivers, reboot before installing the hardware and allow autodetect and auto install.

If the two (cam + laptop) have worked together before and now doesn't, it might be due to hardware problems such as the cord, the cam itself or the USB port of the laptop. If your other USB devices works, then USB port(s) can be ruled out. You can verify that the camera works buy installing it in another PC.

You can verify OS compatibility of your camera as well as updated drivers at the Logitech website. Additionally, you can check for Microsoft updates/patches and fixes like this USB patch for Vista.

Should you need additional information, pls post back with your cam's brand/model, your laptop's brand/model and your OS version.

Hope this be of help. Good luck and kind regards.
