SOURCE: apc ups flashes red light to replace battery, but battery is new

i think by replacing the battery has not been the solution to the problem

u need to check the battery charging voltage when turned ON with main electricity, if no voltage present from charger, there is no question of battery getting charged and also once the battery is down with charge it may not re charge hence the indicator and alarm.
recomended to nearest service centre

?many battries are using in galaxy 3000 g3k

If the Galaxy 3000 is a 10 or 15 KVA UPS, you need 20 batteries of the 12v 20ah if the UPS has standard backup time.
If it is a 20 or 30 KVA, probably it needs 24 batteries.
Talking about the 20 or 30 KVA UPS, if the battery is 34ah, it uses 24 batteries; in any other case it uses 20 batteries.

Please tell me how many computers a 20 kva ups( liebert )can support.

It really depends on how large your computers are and what they actually require. A 750 W Cisco Server will require usually a 1.5Kva UPS and give you around 7-9 minutes depending on the model of UPS.

Dc bus faulty

Batteries in the UPS typically last 3 to 5 years and it depends upon several factors. including the number of times the unit must go on battery power and environmental conditions. There are usually several batteries in the UPS and while the battery voltage may show 13 volts, this may only be a float charge/voltage and a true indication of the battery voltage and condition requires the batteries to be tested under a load. There maybe one battery in a set of batteries that is faulty and causes the whole battery system to fail and indicate a battery fault.

These lower powered and cheaper KVA type UPS are switch over types, when the mains supply fail, the UPS switches over to the inverter in milli-seconds which then supplies mains power but the power waveform is a pseudo sine wave (ie not a true sinewave. A faulty inverter circuit won’t deliver power when the mains supply fails.

The true UPS types are usually the higher KVA units (over 1500 VA) that supplies uninterrupted mains power. The mains power is connected to a charger which charges the batteries and the inverter draws power from these batteries and converts it to true sine wave mains power therefore there is no switch over time lag from the mains to the battery.

UPS 9120

did u check the fuse inside the ups?
did the ups gave the error right after u replace the batteries? or some time after.
sometimes gives the message some time after and its because the charger isn´t working properly. the charger is a spare board in the 9120, 5 and 6 KVa.
good luck

We have a faulty MGE 60 KVA UPS and would like to know a repair company in the preston lancashire area. Thanks

Most of the failures with these are the batteries. Contact the manufacture for details about having it serviced in your area. They should have the contact information in their instruction manual that came with the unit.
