Question about Memorex MVDR2102

Have had a lot of trouble setting up this unit as the users guide tells me how to do what I could figure out myself - how to navigate the setup menu - and nothing about what the options mean.

My main problem is how to figure out how to get closed captions to work on the thing. Not only do they not work when I am playing back a disc, but I have a vhs player hooked up to it and when I play tapes I know are captioned, no captions.

Dunno whether I want SPDIF off, raw or pcm.

Dunno if I want HDCD off, 1x, or 2x

Dunno if I want the TV display Normal /PS, Normal/LB or Wide

I use this DVDR to time-shift TV programs recorded off my digital TV and as a pass-through to play VHS tapes recorded elsewhere.

    Would sure appreciate some help.

When I googled this, it said "page not found." I already have the "User's guide" (which I assume is the manual as it came with the unit when I bought it new). It contains no glossary or explanation of these terms.

I should add that I have captions turned on on the unit and still don't get em.

I did some searching about closed caption and the only thing I could find was a few people discussing that some models didn't record CC with 'progressive scan' setting on. hope that helps. I have this model but can't get the tray to eject so I can't try it out. I found what I could for you but I see your post was from last year (seen it after looking it up so I am posting anyways)

HDCD I believe is for some kind of special Higher definition audio CD's I could be wrong, I leave it off.

  • Normal/PS: When the player is connected to a normal (4:3) TV and a wide picture is shown on the full screen, a portion may be cut off automatically.
  • Normal/LB: When the player is connected to a normal TV and a wide picture is shown on the screen, black strips appear at the top and bottom of the screen.
  • Wide: When the player is connected to a widescreen (16:9) TV, a wide picture is shown on the full screen.
The PCM /Raw settings are for Digital audio connection, mine has an optical cable but I don't use it.
Raw is to be used when you have a receiver that can decode the signal
While PCM is to be used when you do not have the ability to decode the signal.

Raw is the preferred option, if you can't hear anything then switch to pcm

Memorex mvdr2102 no power

Other than a fuse being bad inside the unit weigh the cost of repair versus a new unit, most of the time if a inexpensive unit better to just replace it than fix it.

I Lost the dam instruction Guide and I cant figure out how to turn it on... It pisses me off that yall cant make one online! So please tell me how to turn it on...

unfortunately, the service manual for your Memorex MD6451R Personal CD Player is not available anywhere online. The manufacturers of this Unit did not make it available. I went further searching and couldn't find any.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer of your Memorex MD6451R Personal CD Player via phone or e-mail and request for the service manual from them. They might give it to you or direct you to a dealer where you can get the service manual.

This is the best you can do to get the service manual you are requesting for.

Also there are similar manual for Memorex Cd player that you can use as a guide tool.

Good luck.
