Generic problem for all Sewing Machines

My sewing machine is probably 25 years old and I have lost the manual. Can you please tell what the different "feet" are used for? I have to sew a dance costume consisting of net underneath satin. Which foot would I use?Thanks.

WizIf you are sewing straight stitch use the straight stitch foot for that fabric, less chance of puckering otherwise use the general purpose foot and make sure you use an anti-static needle.
