Question about Dell Inspiron 5160 Notebook
Hello. My Laptop Dell Inspiron 5160 fell down but kept working as usual, but after a few days, the screen turned black and I can see a very faint image on the screen which is very hard to identify.
I tried to connect a desktop monitor but this time nothing was shown.
Please, I need someone to advise me about how I can solve this problem.
Good chance that the ccfl backlight went bad they can be replaced by taking the lcd apart you can use the laptop with an external monitor if you download the latest video drivers for it i just had this same problem with a sony vaio they have 2 ccfl's inside the lcd but they are very fragile and not the easiest thing to replace you need to be good at soldering as they need soldered to the wires if you shine a light at a sharp angle on the screen it will help you see enough to navigate to download the drivers so you can use an eternal monitor here's a link for replacing the ccfl http://www.lcdparts.net/howto/troubleshooting/LaptopCCFL1.aspx
