The picture seems too big for the screen. When there is writing, only about half of it shows. How do we adjust this?

Have you tried hitting the format picture button on your remote control. Seems the picture is in zoom mode. If you have a cable box for HD Channels then look on the remote for a button (format) or Screen size.

try unhooking the cable and hook up a dvd player see if the picture stays the same if it does then its the tv ,if its normal it will be in the transmitter.

Go into your service menu and try to adjust the convergence, if it does not adjust, the IC's ( chips) are bad in that circuit. Call a local factory authorized dealer to service your tv. The cost should run around $450.00. Good luck.
