Memory full

This message usually shows up when you've received many faxes and haven't printed them, or when you have attempted to send faxes but they never made it and were kept in memory for a later date.
I would search in your user's manual how to clear the memory, since each manufacturer has a different way to do this, and the machine's menuing systems also differ from one manufacturer to another.
Good luck!

I have a fax-100 machine. it wont send or receive at all. the display reads 'memory full'. i dont have an advanced user guide. help please.

I don't know what brand fax 100 is. But if the memory is full you might try the following.
Unplug the power form your unit for 24 hours and then restart it. The memory should clear itself. ( you really have to unplug it not just shut off the switch if it has one).
There are reasons why the memory got full in the first place. Either the phone line was off and transmitted documents never sent or the receive function was disabled due to a paper jam, out of paper, or toner or a spent drum.
Good luck.

The screen keeps on showing " memory full".

Hi,
I can advise you on the 'memory full' problem, mate.

If you get a MEMORY FULL message while scanning the first page of a fax, press Stop to cancel the scan. If you get a MEMORY FULL message while scanning in a subsequent page, you’ll have the option to press Start to transmit the pages scanned
so far, or to press Stop to cancel the operation. In this case, send the fax by the Manual Transmission.
Depending on your typical faxes, MEMORY FULL errors can occur frequently. If this happens, change the Memory Transmission setting back to OFF.
To do this:

Press Function/Set, 3, 9.
This should take you to MEMORY TX
and MEMORY TX: ON?
Then press either the left or the right arrow (< or >) to switch on or off, and press Function/Set.
For the next fax transmission only, press < or > to select
NEXT FAX ONLY and press Function/Set.

This will mean you don't add any more to the memory and may be able to send faxes. There is a possibility that you will only be able to fax using manual transmission, but at least you should be able to use the machine to fax at all!

I apologise if the jargon is confusing, just try to go through the process one step at a time and you should be fine.

Hope this helps :)

I'm trying to send a fax, but the machine is not allowing me to type in the recipient's fax no. The display panel reads "File storgae is full. Please wait".

Sounds like your memory is full. Either reset the power or try to take the memory off, there is a button on Panafax machines, then send the fax manually.

Canon MIXPA MP530 Memory is full

I found this in a forum and I suspect it will work, remember that you'll need to clear the internal memory chip by unplugging the printer:

I got the dreaded "memory full" problem with my mp530 this morning. Couldn't FAX because the mp530 thought its memory was full even though it showed no documents in memory. The Canon site lists this symptom with a solution of 'turn off the unit, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on'. Well that didn't work, so after multiple tries I noticed a post on this board (not really related) that suggested turning off the unit, unplugging it and waiting 10 minutes -- and that did the trick.
