thanks for your reply Geekman. But there is no red/pink flash. the screen display is excellent except for the fact that some horizontal line appers for few sec and gets normal again. this happens at randomly and i cannot control this.
As mentioned the external moniter works great.
Yeaterday the laptop screen went blank/black with very few light making windows hardly visible. making me think that the CCFL lamp is faulty and demands replacement. But this morning i was surprised when my machine worked fine again, with good quality of light and flickers making me think that a loose connection is causing a problem.
how do i check the loose connection to rule-out this possiblity if it is not the real issue.
    Appreciate your reply.

This could be a faulty CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Can i install windows 7 in compeque nx 9000 laptop

HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9000 Series Specifications
From the specifications 128mb ram and graphic card ATI Mobility Radeon graphics accelerator with 16- or 32-MB DDR graphics memory, 4x AGP graphics capability i dont think that you can install windows 7 in that model and in case that you finally install the windows 7 you will get something unstable and practical not functional.

Laptop monitor bad color and flickers continuely, but when attached to external monitor, works fine

I'm going to take an educated guess here, because it sounds like the monitor's interface controller is bad. I forgot the name of the thing, but it's a small circuit board that's normally located at the bottom of the panel frame, between the flat ribbon cables and the round hinge cables.

Hi i ive got a pc with msi ms7312 motherboard ,unknown what procesor but for sum reason when turned on my monitor wont *** on ,it has on bourd grafix ,iv tried the monitor on the pc im using now and it...

It's an very old Athlon XP processor. But the problem isn't with it, it's with the motherboard itself, the chipset has died.
There is nothing you can do, it's dead for good. Replace it - any Socket A motherboard with DDR memory will do.

Dv2740se Screen blank, if I connect to monitor it seems to

I suggest you to reinstall the operating system once, there might be some problem with the operating system so your screen is going blank before the operating system loads.

You can reinstall the operating system by using the re-installation disc.

Any further issue you can contact me.

Alienware monitor flickering green

this is most likely, a fault with the tft panel ( cfl Tube Or invertor )
Or a motherboard fault. I,d change screen invertor first Then new Panel.
Also if it has 2 graphics cards, 1 may have a fault.

Thankyou for using Fixya.
