How do I work out the weight of a d series truck on the compliance plate it says gvw 14,200 but to me that's 14 ton the truck is not big enough to carry that weight the model is a 83531j4 any help would be...

Gross vehicle weight is measured in pounds.there are 2000 pounds per ton so 14200 pounds would be 7 tons 200 pounds .
That would be in the U.S. other countries might be kilos.

Rear suspension feels very soft, auto ride light comes on from time to time

U need to have ur shock absorbers checked, they might be worn and need replacement. Also the coil springs may need re-tension. U should watch ur car's normal gvm, becoz if exceed, it has damaging effects on the suspension.

Radiator valve not draining

if you take that drain plug out it will drain that's what i would do
