Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have an ASUS A6000 laptop which has worked fine for over 3 years. I recently left it powered off for over 1 week and now it won't boot from either hard disk or the original ''Recovery'' CD. Powers on OK but get nessage to ''Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key''. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Hi, you'll have to go to bios/Cmos settings& set the bootable media as your CD/DVD rom drive name & you can try to recover it.

My Asus X553M laptop is not booting up. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Temitope, Hard reset. Open computer, remove battery, hold power button down (((1 minute))), reinsert battery, reassemble laptop, push/hold power button a couple seconds.
2nd fix, try to boot laptop without hdd.(hard drive). Remove the hdd, then turn on the laptop.. then it can get into the bios.. reset the bios to the default setting, turn off the laptop, and then turn it on again with hdd reinstalled. This seems to be what works in the forums with this issue found in Asus laptops. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

This sounds like the power supply - before buying a new motherboard can you get voltages from the pin connectors that power the board? You can use a simple multi-meter - set to 12V and register the current.

Hello How do I remove the keyboard from an Asus A6J A6000 entertainment notebook? Thankyou

1. Place your laptop on a clean, flat surface and remove all power sources from it. Open your laptop screen as far as you can.

2. Use the flathead screwdriver to pop open the hinge cover. Slowly and carefully pry it open from the right side to the left side, exposing the keyboard screws. Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the Asus A6J Keyboard in place. Keep these screws in a safe place.

3. Gently tug the Asus A6J Keyboard component toward your laptop display. You are trying to pull it out of the slot that is located near the palm rest and mouse pad. It doesn't take much force, but you must be firm. Once you have pulled it out of the slot, you can lift it up and remove it from your laptop.

4. Take the replacement keyboard and slide it into the slot. Once in place, screw it into place with the Phillips screwdriver and the screws you removed in Step 2. Fit the hinge cover back into place by snapping it in from left to right. Power on your laptop and verify that the Asus A6J Keyboard is working.

Asus F3S Laptop Graphics Card Died

If you have run the laptop in safe mode it uses the standard VGA graphics driver, and this indicates the onboard graphics card is still functioning.
Try connecting and external monitor to your laptop and the boot up your laptop.
Then :-

2. uninstall the graphics driver.
3. Reboot the laptop and install the new graphics driver.
4. Shut down and remove the external monitor and reboot.
5. Goto the Control panel - Display and check/set the settings for screen resolution, Colour setting etc.
