Stitch length is controlled by changing feed dog height. Make sure the feed dog selector is completely to the left (B) position. The feed dog mechanism may need cleaned and lubricated. See owners manual.

If electrically it is dead check the fuse. See owners manual

Hi did you mean the machine was just maintenanced? ( that is serviced?) If so you should take it back to the service shop and get them to fix it. If it was a friend then only trial and error will maybe fix it. :-)

NO! It may not be toast! Have you tried pressing the needle down button? This recently happened with my Pfaff 1467, and it turned out to be a short in the foot control. Check the power cord to your foot control, giggle it, and if you have a meter, check to see if the correct amount of voltage is running through it. Then, gently unscrew it and take it apart to make sure there are no loose or frayed wires. We did this twice, over the last few years, before we just gave up and bought a new foot pedal.

It may be that the pully has broken, mine did this and parts went into the machine. I would ask a repair man to access the insides to check. A pulley can be then replaced.

so, the belt adjustment screw is stuck? loosening+ tightening the belt is an abnormal requirement unless the previous owner messed with it. the belt should be neither too loose or tight. both conditions will mess up sewing. this is where experience with a variety of machines comes in handy. i can tell by the feel of the belt. it should be firm. a displacement of around 3/4" is a general guide when lightly pulling it toward the front of the machine(toward you.) belt tension, upper thread tension, and bobbin race tension are difficult subjects for those not used to sewing. very important also to use the correct needle for each project. what needle size+point did u use for sewing velcro?

Your clue is "just sits with the motor revving." your motor belt is about shot. If an internal motor... take it in to replace BOTH the motor and timing belts, might as well have it serviced and adjusted too while the repair person is in there.

Did the machine get dropped, or otherwise roughly handled? Or have a rough, bumpy ride back home, etc? That could explain why it's not working correctly.
