If some required files from the printer driver software gets corrupted this same problem happens.delete the printer drivers completely from your printer and reload it again with the software cd .and check out.this will help.

The printer works fine from Windows including Scanner.When using photocopy from printer panel does not work.

If you are not getting any error messages, I suspect you definitely have a printer hardware problem, especially if it prints fine from Windows. Best to contact Canon's technical support with this one

Virtually refuses to print CD's. Have re-whitened the blocks on the CD tray and still refuses, just "jams" every time

You will need to check the rollers insiode the printer and the full printer path, cd paper is thicker than standard paper and will take less to block it, also look for stickyness on the print rollers

Photo copier

Please confirgue the print server properly. Assign a particular ip address to it if possible. Then install the photocopier driver in computer and add the network port ip eual to the ip of print server. if it does not work install the print server driver if comes with it as a printer and assign it a ip.

Photocopying

If printers give you problems the easiest way to check whether it's a hardware fault is to disconnect from pc, uninstall driver from add/remove programmes. re start pc install the printer drivers from the cd rom supplied or downloaded drivers and re connect printer when prompted or after the installation has finished. This should cure any software problems, so if the problem continues, it's then your decision on whether it's worth sending for repair or buying new.
