How to change filters

need to replace the fuel filter on a 2003 ford expedition. Do not know the location of where it is at.

did it happend right after you tune it up if not and it was there before check the egr valve try disconecing it then test drive it if it goes away replace your egr valve let me know if it dont work so i can try helping you

Was the fuel filter changed at the time the pump was replaced? Often small pieces of debri will collect in the small paper filter after the new pump starts ,,two fuel lines pull apart and the new filter goes between the lines..

there is often a 2nd inline filter between the tank and engine, also there is a "sock" on the intake line in the tank itself that may be clogged with dirt. try running some fuel cleaner / fuel anti-freeze though first as that will often clear up the issue fairly cheaply.

if u do a flush thats just a fluid exchange only u have to specify u want the filter changed too and its a separate service

fuel filter is one thing that the intervals dont always need basicaly a fuel filter thats getting pluged will restrict fuel that causes a cutout at full throttle a dirty filter on any kind...fuel air oil water. will filter better as it gets pluged. on a semi u typicaly dont even tough the air or fuel filter untill u see restricion on ur gauge. cars dont have gauges for that. if u havent for a while and think it needs it just change it. there is no true interval for this because its doesnt matter how many miles or hour are on the car. its only how much contaminates are in the fuel. so a better interval for fuel filter would be judged by how many times u fill ur tank. if u frequently put in a little gas then u will get more dust and dirt in there. if u fill ur tank and do it at a depndable station.....fyi the newer the tanks in the ground doesn not meen cleaner. dust gets everywhere and just depends on location. so use your own judgment and replace it when u think u should . if you go on a big trip every year for example u would want to do it before u go. but next year should be ok. then again in a few years. but if u ever have it cut out at full throttle then u know its getting pluged. yes i know full throttle isnt somthing everyone does every day but step it down good and if it goes ur fuel filter is good the only other way would be just put one on every year or 2 and never worie again. hope this helps.

It is the oil cooler lines that run to the radiator to cool the oil.
Go to a auto parts store, tell them your make model of vehicle, and they can get you a seal kit.

I dont know what you mean when you say it acts "more normal?" What is normal? Those gauges on the dash are not real accurate, they are just there because men like gauges.Maybe the filter isnt flowing as much? are you using the same brand oil filter? I'm sure there isnt much wrong. The oil you are using is just fine.

The fuel filter must be changed every 30000 miles along with the air filter.You dont say how many miles are on the car so its hard to tell you further. I would change the oil after 1000 miles a couple of times useing a Fram oil filter to help remove the particles.And use Castrol oil.I dont know who is doing the oil and filter changes or if they are getting changed.If so they might be useing junk oil and junk filters.

a transmission service AND filter change should solve this problem
