Question about JVC AV-20220 TV
I have a 54" JVC DLP TV, aprox 2 1/2 yrs old, replaced the bulb 6 months ago. Turned it on today and there is a big black box covering the whole middle of the screen. I can see about 5" of picture on each side when its in full screen mode. When I put it in panorama or cinema zoom the whole screen is black. I have tried the c/c settings to no avail. Thank you

After reading other postings, we figured out that it was the caption box, went to menu and turned it off.
Thanks for the great site, we wouldn't have figured it out without it !

i had the same problem with a Sanyo tv, was ready to trash it and a friend told me how to fix it.i went to the tv menu (not cable or satellite menu) and from the settings list chose CLOSED CAPTION . i had inadvertantly made a change there which left me with a black text box and very little viewing area. i just had to make sure all of the options for CC were OFF. hope this helps
