Question about Husqvarna Viking 1
I have a Viking sewing machine model 6430 and it will only sew backwards The backstitch button will not work on returning to forward stitching. Is there a way to fix this problem?
Th cam stack gears have gummed up on you you can try getting the back cover off along with the side and soaking the machine down with wd-40 and running it while forcing the reverse button in and out if it breaks free try and soak up as much of the wd-40 as you can and then oil anything that moves. I know this may be discouraging but viking no longer supports this machine and you might be better off taking it to an older viking dealer for help.

Bbragg77 is mostly correct. It is not the camstack. Although they will crack, but that is all together another problem. It is the stitch length/reverse mech. You can manually work it back and forth to free it and I like to use break cleaner to get it free then re lubricate. A good service shop can put you back in business. And yes Viking does not support 6000 series machines any longer.
