Haier HLP20E washing machine won't spin & drain.

Haier HLP20E washing machine won spin drain Google Search

Cause 1Lid Switch Assembly The lid switch assembly prevents the washer from spinning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not spin. To determine if the lid switch assembly is defective, use a multimeter to test the lid switch for continuity. If the lid switch does not have continuity, replace it.
Parts Cause 2Motor Coupling
The motor coupling connects the motor to the washing machine transmission. If the washer is overloaded, the motor coupling will fail in order to protect both the motor and transmission. The motor coupling can also fail due to normal wear. Inspect the motor coupling to determine if it is broken. If the motor coupling is broken, replace it.
Parts Cause 3Drive Belt
Inspect the drive belt to determine if it is broken or if it is loose on the pulleys. If the drive belt is broken or loose, replace it.

Our washing machine is spinning but not agitating. Do I have a problem with the motor coupling?

Yes it can be motor coupling problem or motor related problem. Both the motor coupling and motor itself needs to be checked. Motor coupler it's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. If this happens, you need to completely replace it. Drive motor Many washer brands use a reversing motor. For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor. But if both the motor coupling and motor checks out ok then the transmission and agitator assembly itself needs to be checked. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

How do you seperate the motor from the agitator to replace the agitator bushing?

Hi, If you mean how do you replace a bad coupling. Here are the directions for a bad coupling. Kenmore's, Whirlpool's and Ropers are direct drive machines this means they don't have a belt. Instead the transmission is connected directly to the motor via a coupling. This is what a coupling looks like:
a8ee26c.jpg To confirm this pull the machine forward enough that you can lean it back and it will stand back under it's own weight. Wedge something underneath the chassis so it does not fall on you while your accessing the bottom. Go under the Machine and locate the motor, You will see the pump connected to the motor connected to the transmission. 1. Unplug the wire harness from the motor then. 2. Use a screw driver remove the 2 clips holding the pump in place and remove or push the pump out of the way. 3. You will need to remove the 2 screws from the brackets holding the Motor in place with a nut driver. 4. With a screwdriver remove the 2 clips holding the motor in place (be careful to support the motor as the clips comes off) 5. remove the motor and drop it onto the floor. Now you will see the coupling..one side on the motor the other side on the transmission the rubber connector in between. Replace the coupling if broken or worn and reassemble the washer in reverse order. Now you should be all set. Be aware you may smell rubber on the first couple loads this is normal after replacing a coupling.
If you have any other questions please feel free to comment. Mike

Washer does not spin even though water fill and drain properly. Water level presure swith working properly. How do you cehck the capacitor and the motor to make there is power get to each part. Washer is a...

OK,
This could be something not related to the electronics. The motor has a coupling that connects the output shaft to the transmission. If you can, check below the washing machine using a flashlight. If there is black rubber dust below the machine, that bushing needs to be replaced. It is worn out...The part is about $20 to $25 depending on where you purchase it.

To replace the coupling, drain the washer, then unplug the power. Tilt it back, then remove the motor to inspect the coupling. You can easily replace the coupling by removing the motor. There are two metal retainers that can easily be snapped loose using a large screwdriver. Pull the motor away from the transmission housing, then remove the existing coupling and install the new coupling.

Once it is in place, clip the motor back in place, tilt the washing machine back down, plug it back in, and VOILA! You are in business!

Good luck!

Kenmore 90 series washer w broken belt

Hello I'm afraid you didnt find a belt but maybe a piece of the coupling. Here are detailed instructions on replacing a coupling: from the limited information this sounds like it's going to be a broken coupling. Kenmores are usually direct drive machines made by whirlpool, this means they don't have a belt. Instead the transmission is connected directly to the motor via a coupling. Replace coupler on kenmore top loader would like diagram

Go to searspartsdirect.com. You will have to put in the model number to do a search. The search will produce an exploded view along with the parts list and prices. If you're wanting to replace the coupling; the easiest approach is to lay the washer face down. Remove the motor mounts and replace the coupling. The couplings are plastic and fit tightly to both shafts. Pry coupling loose from motor and washer with a screwdriver. Install one of the coupling halves on each shaft. Sit the rubber center section on to the motor half of the coupling and install motor and motor mounts.

Washing machine - Need to replace motor cupling on the kenmore 90 series

you have to access the coupling by removing the housing of the machine,

you can tilt it a little bit to the back so that the motor is in your front.
remove the water pump clamps so that you can remove the pump.

unscrew the screws holding the clamps of the motor.( hold the motor tight, it is heavy)
remove the clamps, the motor will fell..

remove the motor and you can see that the coupling is attached to its shaft.

one coupling goes to the shaft of the motor, the other coupling goes to gear box shafting, and the rubber ring is in between the two coupling.

normally, only one coupling is damaged and you can just replace that coupling. you have the other two parts as spare.

i hope this would solve your problem.

tnx 4using fixya,
