Question about Honeywell Comfort Control Tower Fan - White
It is impossible to take fan apart, but I have found a solution. You will need a can of WD-40, a rag, and a flashlight. Inside the fan is a tall drum that rotates, the rattle is coming from the top center of this drum, where it attaches to fan motor. Turn fan off, and put the rag on the back of the fan to avoid spraying out the other side. Use flashlight to locate the top center of the drum inside the fan, and spray with WD-40. Step back before turning fan on, or you will get oil in your face. It will take a few tries but the fan will be quiet when you hit the sweet spot.

Most fans have a sticker located on the middle of fan where the rotating impeller attaches to the fans frame. If you remove this sticker, you'll see a seal and a bearing. Put a *TINY* drop of oil on the bearing, and replace the sticker. Spin the blades to see if it gets noticeably smoother. If the sticker won't re-apply, tear it off and replace it with a
hand-cut piece of clear or electrical tape that's roughly the same size and shape.
I've used this method to fix fans that were almost completely seized up. For fans that are just noisy, it works almost every time. Note that if this is the CPU fan, the tape and the bearing will be on the underside of the CPU, mandating it's removal from the heat sink. If it's the Power supply fan, you will have to remove the power supply from the computer, remove the case, and undo the four screws that *usually* hold the fan to the back of the power supply's case. Hope this helps....
