Question about Intex Complete Easy Set Pool Kits 15' X 36" Pool Set

1 Answer

My cousin dug out dirt at the high point of the area where we put up the 15' x 48" Intex metal frame pool. It seemed to be filling evenly and looked great. The next day it looked as if a couple of poles were leaning a tad and the opposite side poles seemed to be fine and sturdy. The water level is off 1/2" to 3/4". Should I drain and re-do?

They say that the pool should be completely even. I dont want to tell you, you have to re-do, but I also don't want to tell you that you shouldn't. Without seeing it, it is hard to say whether or not it would be safe to leave. That being said, attempt to straighten those leaning post, applying something underneath each pole so that they do not sink into the ground further. (which may difficult with the water in)

I personally have put 1/2" slate bricks under each pole post to avoid it sinking into the ground, so it being un-level is not a problem.

Basically only you know what you feel safe doing. I just hope I have helped to give you a solution to the sinking poles issue. If the ground is uneven, even with something under the post, it can still be uneven. It will be hard to get completely even. Ours is off slightly too, but its fine.

Good luck!

My wife and i bought a 16 by 48 in. ultra frame intex pool. we had profesionals level the ground, we have a sandy base, and after filling our pool with water and the legs settled, the pool is approx. 2 in....

There won't be any structural problems and you will notice the difference more than anyone else. If you redo the pool next year it will help to set each leg on a patio brick so it won't settle.

We set up our pool filled it and turned on pump for 24 hours then turned on the saltwater system. Immediately tested the copper level with the strip it said 0 so we put system into boost mode and now this...

Metal in the water. When you fill your pool, immediately treat as if you had metal, according to package insructions ... (pump running generally speaking).

I dont know why, it seems metal is sometimes hard to detect ... treat the water anyway. In my area, the stuff costs less than $20.00 which is way cheaper than removing the metal AFTER you find it!

The metal poles seem to be tilting in twords the top it looks like its going to collapse. The pool is not to full...It is also not on a hill.

If your soil is sandy or loose the pole bases may be sinking and spreading outward. I have seen people use landscaping blocks or bricks underneath the bases to solve this.
And remember, even a couple inches of elevation change can unbalance one of these pools...not obvious to the eye over an 18 foot area, but obvious once you fill it.

Intex changed product materials of pvc pools

You would think that two tarps would be enough, lol
I would get weed killer and kill the grass or put sand over it. the last suggestion is diggin it up and then putting sand over it to level it back up.
Please rate and let me know if it helps.
thanks and God bless

Intex pool filter is putting out dirty water, and i have just replace the filter

make sure the filter is seated properly and all the seals/o-rings are in place. Look for any potential area that dirt/debris would bypass the filter.
