It sounds like you have a nearly dead battery. Try charging it with a battery charger, and have it tested after charging at an auto supply store.

I have an kawaski 440 jet ski and how much oil does it take in the gear box and what kind

Your 440 jet ski does not have a gear box. If you are referring to what looks like a filler cap on the front of the motor, that is the generator/flywheel cover and it is a dry compartment and should remain that way.

How do you time a js 440

remove gas tank and flywheel cover, then remove flywheel with a 3 finger puller, timing mark is located on stator plate and if memory serves the align mark on the plate is to match the seam on cases. But your going to want to crank that stator counter clockwise almost as far as it can go for better performance.

I have a 1989 kawasaki js 550 jet ski. The engine turns over but I do not get spark out of either spark plug? what is the issue and how do I trace the electrical problem?

Check the ignition coils to begin with and basically follow the wiring back to the stator making sure you have proper voltage at each component, also check to make sure everything is grounded properly, it is very common for the grounds to be corroded on marine equipment. I will have to check but I am sure I have a dealer service/ troubleshooting manual for kawasaki skis, so if you have any other questions about yours let me know.
