Remote control code for Philips VCR &am...
Dear Expert,
I am having no sucess in finding the remote control code for my newly purchased Philips VCR &DVD combo player. I simply prefer one remote for all home intertainment systems. The code cannot be found in the manual or is it in the list of codes that come with the universal remote. I've called Philips tech support for both the player and the universal remote, which is a Philips product, and it baffles me that no one can get me a simple remote code for this product!
Please help if you can, Thank You,
John

- I have found a code that will give me most of the major functions of the DVD and VCR player for the Phillips VCR & DVD player DVP3340V/17. Except power on/off, toggling between players, and a few special DVD funtions. It's 0442. It's better than nothing.

-   Similar to the guy at the beginning of this search I have a Philips dvd/vcr. And like him I have looked on-line, and called the manufactuer. I am trying to get my Direct tv box to record my shows but it needs a 3 digit "universal remote code" for the unit. Now I find it curious that no one seems to have this code. I tried the formentioned 442 code for the dvp3340v/17. however I have the dvp3345v/17. Please help. thank you for your time. -

If you have Dish Network and I suspect if you have Direct TV or a cable providers, you can use your remote for that service provider to find your VCR code. For the Dish you can look in the user's guide on pages 9 and 19 to see how to do a "Device Code Scan" and "Check Device Code".
To Scan: #1: Turn on the device you wish to scan for a code, #2 Press and hold down the button on your Dish remote for that device until all the buttons light up and the specific device button is flashing, #3 Press the blank power button, #4 press the up or down button until until your VCR tuns off, #5 Press the POUND ( # ) key to store the code number and #6 Press the blank power key to turn the device back on.
To Check the Device Code: #1 Press and hold down the device key until all buttons light up and the device button is flashing, next press the POUND ( # ) key TWICE ! The Mode button will flash to code number with a pause between each number, i.e. 5 flashes, pause 3 flaskes, pause one quick flash is 530. Write down this number and you are rady to go !

I have an old VCR Model vrc4125. It has some age to it. Anwyay, I noticed there is only 1 audio-in terminal (along with 1 audio out). I am trying to connect the red and white audio RCA plugs from dvd player to this vcr. Do I need a splitter (adapter) 2 female rca plug to one male?

Here is the (useless) help? from Philips:
- Batteries are weak or empty. Use new batteries. Do not
mix old and new batteries and never mix different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, etc.)
- Press the DVD or VCR button at the top of the remote to ensure that remote is in the correct mode and try buttons again.
- Install the batteries '+' and '-' aligned correctly as indicated inside the battery compartment.
- Remove any obstruction and point the remote control at the remote sensor when pressing the buttons.
You can buy a replacement remote control for about 2/3 the cost of a NEW VCR. This is probably why it's hard to find the control code. They want you to spend $55 for their remote rather than picking up a universal for $6.95 at Wal-Mart.
Best solution is to buy a different product.

None of the codes provided worked. I have a Radio Shack 15-2126 Flag 4-In-One remote.
The search for the code didn't work either.
Email me at imgoingbannanas2@hotmail.com with any results ;)

I have the same problem - just received the Innovage for Xmas and I even tried the 'code search' function of the remote to no avail. Can't find a solution on the net as yet, either.

I have the same issue with my Model DVP3140. Calling Philips just makes you made because their answer is that we do not support the remote control model you have, you need to call them. They don't know what Philips engineers have plugged in. Here are the manufacturing codes I have tried. 0503, 0539, 0675, 1267, 0646, 0854, 1354, 1260. Any other known codes for DVD players out there? Please let me know.
