Start > All Programs > Look for Internet Explorer > Right click > Send to > Desktop (Create shortcut).
If you can see it download seamonkey or Firefox.
You can do this by going into "My Documents" And on the title bar type " http://google.co.uk ".
Best of luck.
Tom.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hacking Your Way Through the Interface

Use Registry hacks to make a grab-bag of great interface changes.
Hidden in the mazes of the Registry are countless ways to hack XP's interface. Here are some of my favorites.
Hide All Icons in the Notification Area
The System Tray, also called the Notification Area, is the small area on the far-right side of the Taskbar, in which utilities and programs that run in the background, such as antivirus software, show their icons.
I don't find it a particularly intelligent use of screen real estate, so I'd prefer not to see the icons there. To hide them, run the Registry Editor [Hack #68] and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer. Among other things, this key controls the display of objects throughout XP. Create a new DWORD called NoTrayItemsDisplay. Assign it a value of 1. (A value of 0 will keep the icons displayed.) Exit the Registry and reboot.
While you're at the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer key, you can also delete the My Recent Documents icon on the Start menu. Create a new DWORD called NoRecentDocsMenu. Assign it a value of 1. (A value of 0 will keep the icon displayed.) Exit the Registry and reboot.
Hide Only Certain Icons in the Notification Area
You might like to display some icons in the notification area but hide others. If so, you can hide icons on a case-by-case basis. You'll do it by delving through menus, though, not by hacking the Registry. Right-click on the Taskbar and choose Properties → Taskbar. The Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box appears. This dialog box, as the name implies, lets you control how the Taskbar and Start Menu look and function.
In the Notification area of the dialog box, check the box next to "Hide inactive icons," then click Customize. The Customize Notifications dialog box appears,
Click on the program's listing in the Behavior column, and choose from the drop-down menu to hide the icon when the program is inactive, always hide it, or never hide it. Click OK twice. Your changes will take immediate effect.

Hello :

You web browser is not stable . Here is what to do : Just go to www.microsoft.com and download internet explorer again and install it , then reboot your system . I'm sure that this will solve the problem . any way , why don't you try other internet communication softwares like ( firefox or google chrome) those both are great also . I advice you to have more than one internet communication software . I already have three just in case if one of them is corrupted . I have ( Internet explorer and firefox and google chrome ) . just try the idea and you'll be satisfied with the result

If this solution is helpful please click a thumbs-up rating below.

Have a great day,

This sounds very funny but the problem is I cannot get my desktop

There is a registry setting that will hide desktop icons in windows.
But when this happens by itself, and you did not set hide desktop icons, that means that there is either a virus or a windows is corrupted.

If the problem happened recently try doing a system restore to a date before the problem started. That will make thing easier.

If that does not work try changing the hide icon registry settings, you can damage the system doing wrong registry changes.

On Vista Hide All Desktop Icons

On XP Hide Desktop Icons

If you have not done hide icons registry change by yourself , then there may be a virus.

If you think there is a virus, then download Spybot and run a complete system scan:

Desktop icons r bigger when open gtalk.

Hello,

if you are using Internet explorer, check out the Script settings on Internet options to get the default view.

or if you are using any other browser, like mozilla firefox, opera, etc., simply use the same settings to get the default view.

you have also to check the google talk settings.
