Question about Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3200 Keyboard/Laser Mouse

1 Answer

Laptop keys jump around

The last few weeks, when I type, no matter how slowly, the cursor jumps and suddenly I'm typing in the line above or more without realizing it. I touch-type so I don't look at the screen every single second. The problem is affecting when I type in passwords because not all the characters go in the box. The laptop didn't do this when I bought it last December, just the last month or two. I'm not leaning on the touchpad. Do I need to have it cleaned or something? It's driving me nuts.

On my laptop, the cursor jumps unpredictably to previously entered text.

The space bar 'contacts', internally are dirty or defective. You will probably need to replace the keyboard or seek from manufacturer a 'cleaning process ' for this keyboard.

While typing on my laptop, my cursor jumps to other places on the page, then types where the cursor has moved to . I don't use a mouse.

Hi,
I guess the 'other places of the pages' is mostly the beginning of the line? It usually happens when the key stroke is not proper while using combination keys. Or also it happens when if you dont release a key when you press the next in between your speedy typings.

About a week ago I started noticing that when I used the letter y it would make my cursor jump backwards, sometimes a few spaces but sometimes several lines. What could be causing this? It only happens if...

Does your keyboard have a pointing device in the centre? (small button that is an alternative to using the touchpad)

If you have that then it is likely that you are touching it while typing and moving the cursor inadvertently.

You can disable that device, but I would need to know what make and model of laptop you have to advise further.

On-screen cursor jumps around while typing. When I am typing I end up typing in the middle of previous typed lines. I have a Averatec laptop running Windows XP)

Try using the function key to disable the touchpad. Most times they are sensitive and like to jump when you are typing as your wrists rub or pass over the touchpad.

your palm might be hitting the touchpad causing your mouse cursor to move and jump around... try to type with only your fingers hitting the keys and the back of your hand raised and not hitting any part of your laptop... hope this helps....

When I am typing he cursor jumps around

It is a fault with Lenovo laptops. My cursor jumps all the time, no matter what software I am using. It is NOT the 'sensitivity' of the touchpad, for my cursor jumps even when I am not typing, even if I don't touch the laptop! I can set the cursor to a certain point on a document and then, after about 30 seconds, it will just jump to another point, even if I am in another room.

Cursor skips lines while typing

My experience: cursor suddenly moving backward when i was typing, or moving somewhere else on the page. I would be typing and text suddenly would get highlighted. I followed someone's advice to disable the touch pad. Since I do have a mouse & key pad that was all i had to do.
HOW TO DISABLE THE TOUCHPAD FOR ACER 3680 AND OTHERS??? PRESS Fn +F7
Yep, it was that simple. At first I made sure i typed without my fingers or palms touching or near the touchpad. I noticed it seemed to stop or happen less. Soon as I disabled the touch pad all is back to normal. Yet I spent hrs trying to find out how and there were all these posts by people suggesting downloads and other more complicated things etc..
