On boot up it just shows BAUHN then goes blank and dark the BAUHN again.

try starting in safe mode.

when you power on the PC, start tapping the F8 key on your keyboard.

this will give you the option to start in safe mode and can possibly let you find out why you cannot start up.

if it does start this way, you should at least be able to retrieve the files you were looking for.

You may want to try boot into SAFE MODE.
Do this by pressing F8 repeatedly until you are offered boot options by windows.

select SAFE MODE and continue on. Note this may take longer to boot and is normal.
when it goes into windows it will ask you if you want to continue so click yes.

If you have recently installed any programs esp. toolbars then you should use the ad/remove programs to delete them.

Also if you have antivirus AND antispyware now would be an ideal moment to let them go to work.

Now try a reboot.

I had the same problem. The first time I used the HDMI port, it showed up perfectly on my TV.

But, next day I get a blank screen. When I rebooted the laptop it would show the windows splash screen and go blank.

I won't tell you how many things I tried that didn't work.

What you have to do is stupidly simple. Right click on the ATI logo in the systray, and then left click on catalyst control center. Run the basic wizard. I'm not sure which screen it is on but choose "clone". Suddenly, a miracle happens, and it works.

I don't know what kind of genius decided to make a second display not work at all unless you ran a wizard. But thats what I did to fix it.

check to see if you get image when lowering the resolution, do this with yoru older monitor try to bring it to a basic 800x600 with 16 bit color depth. then switch monitors and see what happens. If this monitor is energy efficient you may want to check on the power savings settings for your computer.

Sounds Like a Bad Harddrive. First try to Format it out or even Better, Delete the Partition if you can. Then Go With the Fresh Install. Hope This Helps!...

Perhaps it is trying to power an external monitor. Try this: Once your computer boots up, hold down the "fn" key (usually bottom row of keyboard) and then hit the key that shows what looks to be a monitor on it. Usually on the Toshibas, its the F5 key. This key will always be in the F key row. Let me know if this helps.

screen goes dark I tried the moniter in a different pc with the same result. i think there might be problem in monitor adjustment. 2 if it is ok then the problem in video section. 3 also check for loose connector 4 crt base might be loose.
