Water is dripping from underneath the dishwasher. This is not a door issue. Help??

OK. When you see water on the floor, and you open the door, is there any water rising in the wash chamber and breaching the seal? If you open the door and do not see any water other than the water dripping off the dishes or whatever, I would suspect there's a leak underneath. If you see water standing in there, they you will want to clean the food/debris trap. Refer to your manual, if you have one. If the food trap is cleared and the water is still comin out, I would suspect a leak underneath the unit, possibly a loose water hose or drain hose.

Dishwasher Not Leveled

This is a very common reason for a leaking dishwasher especially if this was a new installation. The framing in a dishwasher is made up of mostly thin sheet metal, so if it is not sitting flat and level things can get distorted very easily.

Door Seal

This is not very common in most dishwashers. To check this look for rips and distortion of the seal. If it is ripped or distorted you will need to replace.

Dispenser Seal

This is a more common place for a leak to develop. This is easy to check, remove the front panel and carefully inspect around the seal for water dripping or stainage. If any is found replace the dispenser gasket.

Water Inlet Valve

Usually it is the connection to the water inlet valve that ends up leaking. Check this connection ( there is usually some sort of adaptor between the valve and supply hose) for leaks. Check the connection on the back of the water inlet valve also. Ocassionaly a water inlet valve will leak around the solenoid in this case replace water inlet valve.

Drain / Circulating Pump

Some dishwashers have separate drain and circulating pumps Some use one pump to serve both purposes. In either case you will need to check the housings for leaks along with all the connections. Some dishwashers have a seal that leaks down into the pump . This is easy and inexpensive to replace. Follow the tutorial on replacing the pump

Door Latch

The door latch can become loose or misalinged. Check both the striker and the latch. To adjust the latch you will need to remove the front panel and adjust the switch until properly aligned.

Door Hinges

They can cause problems, but this usually only happens from opening a heavy load of dishes on the door. Occassionaly a broken spring or cable occurs. You will need to remove the toe kick and maybe the front panel to inspect.

First, try to find the source of the leak. Leaks most often appear at the door of the dishwasher or underneath. Leaks can be caused by a number of issues: worn door gasket, water temperature, leaking drain hose, worn gaskets, or a corroded tub. eco light sometimes indicates that water has got into the bottom panel of the machine. A float switch is underneath to protect the machine ( and your kitchen floor from being flooded. ( Either from overfilling or a leak) If you tilt the machine backwards see if any water runs out. If the machine restarts , then you will have sourced the problem. Should the flashing start again later, you may have a water leak underneath. Also check the lower door gasket to make sure its clean. If the gasket is dirty, sometimes water builds up behind the gasket and drips over the front of the tub into the bottom panel underneath causing this symptom. When cleaning the gasket, be very carefull!! The edges of the door at the bottom are razor sharp..

could be water getting behind the lug that holds the dishwasher in place , I used some silicon sealant over the top and the dripping stopped

Dishwasher is leaking water from underneath during the rinse cycle and a small drip during the wash cycle

it may have a cracked tub does it drip out of the tub brace (a strip of metal that runs side to side on the bottom of the tub behind the wash motor) Have replaced several for this issue. Have fixed them with good epoxy also. PLEASE rate my help as solved if i answered your question!! Thankx
