SOURCE: Hp Office jet print cartridge error

I have a 7410 that is 16 months old with the same problem. It is not a broken spring. Spent over an hour on chat attempting to trouble shoot. HPs only solution was to sell me an "upgrade" for over $300 (which is more than I paid for this piece of junk.)

I expect "top of the line" products to last quite a bit longer than that. The worst thing is that with this error popping up, it is absolutely useless for anything else like scanning or outbound fax.

It should be called an "all or nothing" printer.

It does sound like a print head problem. Unfortunately, the print head in the C5180 is not removable and therefore not user serviceable.

Installed new HP 74 and 75 cartridges.

First, try to clean the print head by following the steps below:
1. Remove the old ink cartridges and clean the print head nozzle with a damp cotton swab to remove any dried ink.
2. Reinstall the new ink cartridges and print a test page.
3. If the test page is still blurry, try running the printer's alignment utility. This is typically accessed through the printer's settings or system preferences.
4. If the alignment utility doesn't help, try manually doing an alignment page directly from your computer. Be sure to follow the instructions from the printer manual or from the printer manufacturer's website.
5. If the alignment page is still blurry, try reinstalling the cartridges to ensure the cartridges are securely in place.
6. If all else fails, you may need to replace the ink cartridges

How do I cure blurry printing please?

You don't say what type of printer you have (some have built-in utilities that can guide you to correct things) but generally speaking, if text print is coming out blurry, you may want to look at the following:

1) Check your ink cartridge. Is it dirty? Is it plugged (clogged)? A good cleaning may help by removing your ink cartridge and swabbing the print head nozzle (check your manual for location) with isopropyl alcohol with a cotton Q-tip. Run a test print. Still a problem? You may need to do this about 3 or 4 times before it clears. If your printer head is way down indide the printer, you can get an eye dropper and drop some isopropyl alcohol on it.

2) Check your quality settings. Perhaps someone had changed the settings from "Best Quality," for instance, to "Draft." Make your changes and click Save. Run a test print.

3) Check your paper type. Do you have the right type of paper for your printer? Inkjet printers require inkjet paper, whereas laser printers require laser paper. Mixing the two will produce poor print quality. I am assuming you have normal copy paper in your printer tray, which is fine.

4) Check for printer software updates. Have you tried reinstalling your printer again, especially your printer drivers? If your printer is an older model, perhaps a software update is needed. Go to the manufacturers website and see if there are any new print drivers for your model. Run a test print.

5) Replace your print cartridge. This could simply be an issue of your cartridge being too old, drying up or defective. After installing new cartridge, run a test print.

Hope this helps!

The printer isnt working keeps telling me printing complete

Follow the steps below to fix the problem:
1. Align the print cartridges (open the Lexmark Solution Center on your computer > from the Maintenance tab, click Align to fix blurry edges > click Print) 2. Clean the print cartridge nozzles (open the Lexmark Solution Center on your computer > from the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.) 3. Remove and reinsert the print cartridges. 4. Wipe the print nozzles and contacts using a slightly moistened soft cloth to clean it from dirt or clogs.
Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Prints blurry every other line with black color

Hi,

Is it the ink cartridge contacts you already cleaned? If so, then you can also clean it using the tools menu from the printer panel:

-press setup menu, then go to tools
-select clean print cartridge and press ok
-it will print a test page. If the printout is good, you can try printing again.

I hope this helps.
