Sounds like the coupling between the motor and the transmission is bad. Remove the motor and install the coupling. Put the motor back on. Should be ready to go

Clicking sound on spin cycle

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Level
If it is shaking and not sitting flat ( should have no rock corner to corner) check the leveling legs. Make sure to tighten up the locknut after adjusting.

Timer
Sometimes a Timer will start making noises before they fail. I would highly suggest replacing the timer as soon as the noise develops. This can cause problems with your motor and other components if left alone. This is easy to identify just listen up near the console when running.

Transmission
The transmission does not usually fail but to check this on a direct drive remove the motor and rotate the inner tub and listen for noises it should be quiet. If not the transmission is expensive and you will need to evaluate wether it is worth repairing.

Motor Coupler
On direct drive machines this is a common failure and can be very noisy. To check and replace the motor coupler watch the video.

Motor
You will need to disassemble the washer to listen to the motor running. If the motor is noisy it will need replacing. On direct drive models check the motor coupler first.

Suspension Rods
The Suspension Rods support the tub under the cabinet on some models. The washer must be disassembled to access. These usually do not fail. On direct drive types there will be springs instead of suspension rods. Either usually fails but can from being overloaded.

Drain Pump
The drain pump can be the cause of noise. On belt drive types remove the belt and rotate the pump pulley it should spin freely and make no noise. If it is noisy replace. If it does not spin freely remove and inspect for obstructions if none found replace the pump. Check the impeller on the pump it should be tight and spin freely. On direct drive types remove the pump and inspect or replace.

I have an F&P MW612 washing machine that stops at the start of the spin cycle leaving water in the machine. After pushing the pause button, looking inside, closing the lid and restarting I've heard...

Something may have been stuck in the drain pump impeller creating the clanking noise. This is a serious problem that can lead to the burning out of the motor controller module, the machine's "brain". It has been found that a short circuit is imminent on a leaky drain pump which can eventually burn out the motor controller module.

Empty the machine then lay it's front on a padded floor/surface and check the drain pump including the diverter valve where both the drain pump and the recirculation pump connect from. Replace the drain pump if damaged or leaking to avoid further damage to the motor controller module.

Will not drain water sipn cycle does not work

This sounds as if you have a whirlpool/kenmore washing machine. If the machine is going through the cycles and then completlyl shutting off at the spin/drain cycle the first thing to check will be the lid switch. This is located either under the lid on the opposite side of the hinges, or under the control heading. Most of the time you can see if its physically broke if its under the lid, but if it looks intact get a small screwdriver and press down on it to see if you get a clicking noise. If the switch isnot there than it will be under the control heading. Slowly lower and close the lid to see if you hear a clicking noise to see if the switch is actuating. If you can't hear this noise, that means the switch isn't making contact telling the machine to go to the next cycle. Now, if the machine is getting to that cycle and is trying to drain/spin, and you can hear the motor runnin, something may e jammed in the pump. This is not a common occurance. If you specify which brand you have I could help a little more. Good luck.

He3t makes clicking sound while spinning

That small black box next to "the filter" is actually the drive motor for the drain pump. The motor has a small impeller blade inside that spins. More than likely, you have something caught in the drain pump that is hitting the impeller blades. The following link explains how to clean out the pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385844-checking_drain_pump_kenmore_elite_front

With the filter removed from the pump, check for anything that may have gotten past it and getting caught in the impeller.

It doesn't take much to damage these small pumps. If you notice the noise continuing, reduced performance of the pump, or if you start receiving any error codes that do not clear, it is recommended that you replace the drain pump. New pumps can be purchased (if needed) at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com, pcappliancerepair.com, or repairclinic.com. You can choose whatever web source you like, but these sites, I have found, provide excellent service with competitive pricing.

If you have any questions about this repair, or if you require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you. Hopefully...you won't need any parts.

My Kenmore 80 series washer just started making a loud Aihaiha electrical or motor type noise. This happened during a heavy load cycle. Noise was very loud. When I click to regular, delicate or hand wash....

The following are the reasons for the drum not spinning :-
* Test the lid switch
* Test the timer control
* Test the centrifugal switch
* Test the water level switch
* Inspect the motor coupler
* Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
* Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
* Test the motor
* Inspect the pulley
* Test the transmission

In the case of loud noises in the machine, the drum bearings might have been damaged and might need a replacement. Also do check the leveling of the machine. Good luck.

You,ve done a good job the first time the pump fail MikieM. You can do it again. We sometimes forget to empty our pocket. Some small metal things could have gotten into the pump...could be other hard foreign object. Good luck.

Washer will not drain or spin motor making clicking noise

Likely has debris in the filter.
Open the bottom access panel (3 screw on bottom front lip)
open the filter access and be ready for some water spill ,have towels.
clean and check the pump impellers for freedom of movement.
if you still have noise after this you may have to go deeper past the pump and remove the hoses as the debris can be past the pump now.
Or take the machine outside and run water up the pump using a water hose to clear it. be inventive
