Hi there our dishwasher was in the middle of a wash cycle and stopped. We checked the breaker it is fine and won't start. He is the serial # GSD2304K00WW and I noticed that this is no longer recognized.

I have a GE GSD2000GOO Dishwasher that is 6.5 years old. The washer turns on but does not fill. I've cleaned the basket filter in the bottom back and cleaned the float. I took off the access panel and pulled the float switch out and it still springs back. I am trying to decide if I should repair or replace. This dishwasher was put in by the builder and I'm not sure how much life it has in it. It filled fine the night before then the next day when I turned it on, it appeared to come on but did not fill. I've called for repair and a diagnostic call will cost $75. Then add parts depending on what is wrong (drain solenoid $40, Water inlet valve $45, Float switch $55) plus labor for a dishwasher that was most likely the least expensive GE made back in 2002. I won't but I can buy the same dishwasher new for $300. I'm not that handy. The parts listed above are what I've read is most likely to need replacing. I've looked a diagrams and I have yet to figure out where the drain solenoid is to test it. I don't have a meter to test the water inlet valve. Is there another way to test it? So repair or replace. Is this a do it yourself repair job for a novice? The machine still cleans well although it is noisy as all get out. If this is an easy do it yourself job where can I find a good clear diagram of the inner workings of this dishwasher? Thanks for your help.
