Question about Garden
Hello, I have craftsman edger with a 3.8HP Tecumseh. I have rebuilt the carb, changed gaskets on noth sides of manifolds, and cleaned off flywheel pickups and coil, then set gap to .016. It seems to run decent, but under no load, it pops and breaks up a bit. I am pretty sure the carb is fine and even tried a known good carb, with the same issues. The plug seems a bit white to me, but it doesn;t have much run time (new plug). I also tried raising the float height a bit and lowering a bit, no difference, if anything a little worse each way. I have it set now where a #4 drill just fits between float and carb body (float is about parrellel to carb body) Any suggestions what to try next?
Hi you have your float set about right but your air gap should be at .010 , The other thing you can check is wether the flywheel key is partly sheered i have seen this a number of times and they still run.
