Do you have a game in the UMD drive when you turn it on? Also, was 'UMD Auto-Start" enabled from the [Settings] menu?

Hi,

This portable devices can give lots of problem sometimes sorry about this whole episode. Just follow these simple steps in determining the problem of the portable.

Step 1. Pull out the psp battery after it has been powered off ad\nd put it back on.

Step 2. Switch it back on again.

If it does the same thing, then you'll need to visit a repair personnel or preferably take it to a Sony center.

It is definitely a hardware problem, wish i was physically present to fix it.

This is the best advice so u don't rip it open and face the difficulty of fixing it back together.

Regards

Ok,I dropped my PSP and evertime I turn it on,it goes to the "Sony Entertainment"thing, then goes to the moving wave background and stays that way.I have to remove the battery to turn it off.

Hi,

Pull out the battery again and before you put it back on press and hold the select button. While holding the select button, go ahead and turn it on. Still hold the select button say 45 seconds after switching on.

I put in a game and the psp system froze i cant turn of!!!

Try to remove the memory card. Reboot the PSP. Also make sure that you save the game files on the correct root folder in PSP.

If PSP will still not boot without the memory card. Bring PSP to Sony Service Center.

But if it boots up without memory card. Try to erase all data on memory card. Thre could be a virus or malware there causing the malfunction.

If it still fails, reset the whole thing and erase everything for a clean start.

Thank you.

Psp fat

Im usually pretty good with psp's.. But this is a new case. Seems your psp ISNT bricked.. which is good, but somethings happened to upset your normal screen.
Is your psp custom firmware? Try holding R when turning it on, if its custom firmware, it would boot into recovery mode.
If not, then best solution would be to have someone restore it using the unbricking method.
