You can use WD 40 sparingly. I would suggest though that you may wish to contact the store where you bought it as it is under full warranty.

I have a Maytag French Door Bottom Freezer / Refrigerator. Model MFI2568AEW. I changed the water filter today and 10 seconds after installing the new filter it started making a very loud noise like

Sounds like water hammer, has the water supply got it's own shut-off valve behind the fridge or in the basement ? Try shutting the valve then open it just a little. Perhaps the water supply was opened fully after installing the new filter.

Tip

Keep your garage door in line with WD-40

Have you ever been worried after a heavy rain that rust will derail your garage door? I know I have. There are a few things you can do to maintain your garage door and one of the most important things is keeping it rust free. After a storm, once the door and the tracks it runs through have completely dried, take an old towel and clean out any residue that may have gathered in the track. This could be dust, pieces of leaves, spider webs, rust flakes etc. After you've cleaned it out, take a can of WD-40 and spray a generous amount on every inch of the track, including the parts that are inside and not open to the elements. You don't need to wipe it down afterwards because the WD-40 acts as a lubricant for the door and also prevents rust from building up in the future. I recommend doing this once a year to help maintain your garage door and to prevent annoying squeaking every time you open and close it.

HOW DO YOU FIX A SQUEAKING FRONT ENTRANCE DOOR TO YOUR HOUSE

Hello,

Use a screwdriver, and perhaps a small hammer to pry the hinge pins out one at a time. After you get it out, use some WD-40 or silicone spray to wipe the dirt buildup off of it, then put a thin coat on and re-insert the pin.

If the door does not have hinge pins, use the WD-40 or silicone spray on the hinge and work the door back and forth until the squeaking stops.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Just bought a used 2004 Excursion and the interior lights stay on until the battery wears down. would that be a bad roller switch for interior lights and dash lights?

Well, the lights on our 1998 Ford Taurus stay on for a 'limited' amount of time, say 20 minutes and automatically turn off, even if the door is left open or if the glove box light is left on due to a door left open.

I wonder if your body control computer is faulty in your 2004 Excursion?
Or, if the body control computer is fine, and it doesn't have this feature, then I would see if the door latch switch needs to have wd-40 sprayed on it.

We have a 1999 Ford Expeditioin that had this problem with the door open light going on when the door was actually closed. The tech sprayed wd-40 on the locking mechanism and the problem went away.

Is there any grease points for the door hinges? The door squeaks every time we open.

Hello. Get a can of a penetrating lubricant called WD-40 with a tiny tube applicator included. Open the door and you will see part of each hinge where the door meets the appliance case. Spray the penetrating lube on the exposed part of the hinge and then open and close the door a few times. Repeat as necessary. J.

Squeeks!!! When the door opens or closes it squeeks very loud. WD 40 and other similar products have nott helped.

WD 40 is a water displacement formula not a lubricating product.

Try a oil hand pump with some light engine oil on the henge directly.

After a few days this should help.

Hope this tip helps.

Squeak - Squeak

if it is kitchenaid/whirlpool unit it has 2 nylon ropes that connect door hinges to the springs on either side of door hinges.these ropes slide over plastic wheels and with time it stars making noise.just cln those wheels and apply little bit of regular bearing grease on those plastic wheel.noise wil go away.to do this u have to pull the unit half way out to access those wheels on lhs and rhs lower front end corners of the unit.good luck.

Squeaky door

On our KitchenAid dishwasher we had the same problem--a REALLY loud squeak as it opened. The sound comes from the nylon rope slipping along the plastic pulleys. We've had the DW for about 3 years and the noise has gotten worse over time. I was determined to win the war against the noise and am happy to say I fixed it today.

The trick is to use a dry lubricant on the cord and on the pulleys. I used Dry Graphite by Gunk. It comes in an aerosol spray can and once the stuff dried the squeak was gone. I'll let you know if it comes back...
