the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)

How do I get it to down load windows? When I shut down It says installing updats 1 of 2 for about 1 hour and than 2of 2 for another hour every time I close down.

This can be due to faulty errors that have crept into the operating software and it could be that some registry files are missing or corrupt. If you have a recovery disc, then it can be installed and the software corrected. If not the OS must be reinstalled. Also check for virus and clean up the PC from unwanted files specially the browser from cookies and search history.

Emachines is very slow, takes forever to warm up

You may need to perform a virus scan, I would recommend downloading and installing Avast Anti-virus 5 free.

Click the download now button when the screen loads.

Register the product it is all free and update to the current day.
Perform a complete system scan.

It is possible that your computer is slowing down due to thermal throttling, whereby the computer slows down to produce less heat because it is getting too hot.

Especially if you have had this computer for about a year, dust prevents proper airflow, get it serviced by a computer technician. He/She will clean it out and get it back to it's new condition.

Remember that is this day and age one should have at least 2GB or RAM installed in your computer at the fastest supported RAM speed. DDR2 800 being the fastest DDR2 RAM and DDR3 1333 Being the fastest stock RAM.

All the best!

Hello
This problem of your computer is not due to mouse, i believe your computer is responding slow due to some reasons:
1. Lot of application installed on it, do uninstall software you dont want. 2. Clean the temporary file from your computer 3. Check and Remove hard disk errors 4. Check and clean virus/spyware
You can get helps from this web site as well http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx
Hope this helps, if so do rate the solution

Help, a friend got some virus on her machine. I cleaned off the virus but now we get the blue screen. She did not get OS disks with her computer. She is running MS XP Home Ed. SP2. I don't know what to...

I don't think the disk you have for the gateway will work due to the fact that is has a different serial number...if you try to load it, there will possibly be an error saying it's the wrong machine. try to boot the computer to safe mode. To accomplish this you need to start the computer as normal...then right after the bios screen(with the comp manufacturer logo) you want to press F8...there you will see a list of options...scroll through them till you get to safe mode and press enter...a screen may pop up telling you that you are running in safe mode, answer yes to this...while in safe mode, you can go to user accounts to see if the virus did something to your password(if you use passwords) and change it back. then you will want to shut it down properly and see if it will then boot...now if it won't go to safe mode then the virus probably corrupted your o/s and you will need to reinstall it. As for the operating system disk, you may be able to contact acer to see if they can send you a copy of the o/s disks...oh and also, there may be a partition on the hard drive that contains the recovery sector. Other than that...you may need to start from scratch and wipe the harddrive clean and do a clean install with a new set of o/s discs or a new o/s

Does loading windows operating system solve all computer problems

Hello,

yes, it certainly does. Loading windows operating system will wipe away all former files on your computer and new once (files) would be installed, thereby, making your computer be like a new one.

This will also make your system run faster and perform better, because the Hard-drive would be free from load. Also all hidden virus will be wiped away.

Therefore, loading windows operating system, mainly solves software problems.

Good luck.

Have you run an Anti Virus scan?

Goto Task manager.
From there you can see what processes are running. Norton and Symatec will hog your resources.. End the process that is causing the problem.. careful here.. Some of the Microsoft processes are essential for operation..
After you locate the culprit..
Start>Run> msconfig>startup
Disable the program that is causing the problem and reboot..
