Bosch dishwasher problem

I had a blockage in the waste pipe from my kitchen sink and used a plunger to move the waste along (which worked OK). However, I think that this forced waste water back into my dishwasher. Now the machine will not go into its normal programme. In fact, when I open the door, the waste pump continues to run. The waste water still gets emptied but the machine just won't start filling and working normally. Appreciate any advice.

    Thanks chris72,

I figured that could be the case so I tipped the m/c over (and put some towels underneath). On my m/c you cannot gain access to the tray just by removing the kick plate. The whole m/c has to be turned over and have quite a few torx screws removed before you can gain access to the pump, float switch etc.... I found this out some months ago when I had a blockage in the plastic waste 'matrix'.

Anyway tipping it over seemed to reset the switch and the m/c is now operating fine. Thanks very much for your input. Still don't know though how the base would have been flooded simply by water begin forced back into the machine - surely it should go straight back into the inside of the machine itself?

Hi, our Parmco PD6-PSDF dishwasher won't start its cycle. Once we have closed the door after selecting the programme it pauses as usual and then starts humming like when it should be filling with water. It sounds like a pump is trying to work but is jammed. I think it will fill under normal pressure so not sure what is going on. I have cleaned the filter.

Remove the kick plate below the door. youll see a white tray behind the kick plate. theres water in the tray thats activating a overflow switch. with a towel or 2 remove as much water from tray as possible. this will solve problem

Found an over flow in our bathroom. When we checked the shower. There,me were small particles on the floor of the shower. Now there is sewage smell coming from the shower drain.

The smell might be sewage or just stagnated build up of a mix of things . try to use a plunger to make sure your shower drain is not blocked in any way , to use a plunger correctly you will need to block the drain hole and fill the shower with hot water and remove what you have covered the drain with and start plunging while the water is running down the drain , this gives maximum effect while using your plunger , some material may want to expel out the top of the drain while other material will be forced down and along the waste pipe after you have done this pour a large cup or two full of liquid bleach down the shower drain and see if this clears the problem ,because most sewer systems are independent from the waste water of sinks, showers and washing machines. Also when you flush the toilet try adding a bucket of water at the same time as you press the flusher , this will force more water than usual down your toilet helping to keep the pipes fully open , but if you notice that when you flush and add the bucket into the bowl at the same time that the water does not escape freely and seems to back up , this can be a sign that there may be blockages in the sewer pipes and you might try doing this extra water flush a few ,more time hoping you will clear your pipes adding some Landry washing powder to the bucket can have a effect on moving anything along and hot water is beneficial as well . But I think you will find that the shower drain is what is causing the odour pouring a mix of vinegar and baking soda down the drain as a regular maintenance job keeps them odour free and unblocked .

Why is water left in the machine after cycle

Most dishwashers leave some water at the base at end of cycle.

The problem is there if a large quantity of water is left when the cycle is complete. The most common is blocked filters in the pump sump. If this is clean then the next problem could be outlet hose or the kitchen sink waste pipe. Make sure the kitchen side is clear. If all this is ok then the blockage could in the pump itself. It will look similar to this item.

Liberty Pumps Pro370 Basement Bathroom

At this point, opening the access cover is the last thing you do if it is below the water level in the pipes. Your system has a partial blockage in the pipes between the pump and external septic tanks or sewage dump site, that is the reason why when you use the plunger , half of the amount of waste water comes up to the sink and bathtub. You to open up your pipelines to remove blockage , probably tree roots in the pipes.

My sink fills quarter the way with water when my washing machine is working, please help as i am a computer repair person not a plumber, thanks.

would seem to me that your waste pipe from your sink,or at least when the waste water is being pumped out into the waste pipe it is too much for the partly blocked pipe so it overflows bacj up the sink.try the good old plunger on the plughole, but idealy you should take your ubend apart and clean it also get strong solutions for dissolving grease and the likes that you pour down the plug hole

My kitchen sink blocked

You show the dishwasher yet you complain about the kitchen sink being blocked. If the dishwasher is also blocked then the blockage is below the trap on the sink. If both are blocked then the blockage is after their drain pipes meet under the floor....good luck!

What is F78 fault?

It could simply be that the pipes under the sink where the dishwasher drain pipe fits are blocked with muck. This can prevent the one way valve connecting the drain hose to the household waste from fully opening thus preventing the machine complete its drain cycle. Solution is to thoroughly clean the sink drain pipes - plunger, power plunger and then a dose of chemical cleaner.

I have a brand new whirlpool DU1055XTV5 dishwasher, installed two days ago. After the cycle completes there is about 1/2" clean standing water left in the bottom. It is not just down in the well area,...

Ensure the outlet pipe is below the level of your floor and straight to a drain or plumbed into the waste pipe directly with no chance of syphoning from standing water in your drain/waste pipe.

Miele dishwasher doesn't work.error F70

When this problem happened to our machine, it was simply the pipes under the sink where the dishwasher drain pipe fits were blocked with muck. This was preventing the one way valve connecting the drain hose to the household waste from fully opening thus preventing the machine complete its drain cycle.
Solution was to thoroughly clean the sink drain pipes - plunger, power plunger and then a dose of chemical cleaner. Dishwasher is as right as rain now:)

Slow draining kitchen sink

Yes, if you had any sort of blockage that kept the water from flowing out, it would accumulate in the drain pipe and once freezing temps showed up, it most likely froze. You might try putting as much HOT water down the drain as you can to defrost the pipe and then try you plunger or auger.

A professional drain cleaning company could probably solve the problem much quicker if time is an issue for you.
