Epson stylus dx5000 to be used as a fax

I'd suggest unplugging the unit completely, and then removing the printer from the installed printers by uninstalling it (right-click on the printer icon and then DELETE), and then going through CONTROL PANEL -> ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS and remove all software related to the printer or EPSON. Then reboot.

Then download the updated software and driver package from:

...and follow instructions for a clean install and set up of the unit.

Uninstalling the old software and drivers and removing the printer is important to be certain the new installation will work without confusion.
