Just repaired mine. Had a couple of bad caps on the power board. For disassembly, on the back the two hinge covers will slide off sideways, exposing 4 screws holding the hinge assembly to the monitor. remove that piece and you can get to all three screws holding the plastic monitor shell together. After those three screws are removed, its just snapped together so use a small screwdriver or blade to pry apart. I started at the button area on the bottom and worked up from there. Good Luck.
Here's an excellent video showing you how to replace the clutch on a Dyson vacuum cleaner. It's a moderately difficult repair, but this video really helped me the first time I had to do this repair. I hope this helps you:

djreynolds, maybe go look for some clues at YOUTUBE and search for videos that are longer than 6 minutes and use search term "LCD monitor disassembly" and "LCD monitor repair" may turn up something!! Also find a very DULL butter knife to prevent visit to emergency entrance of local hospital when "PARTING" the rear plastic cover from the front bezel. Use extreme caution to prevent damage to LCD PANEL. 12fixlouie
The switch is mounted on a circuit board and has come unsoldered or has broken solder pad. to removed the cover: 1. Remove two screws behind the paper slot. Locate the two small slots on either side of the case(about halfway, front-t0-back, and top-to bottom), insert a small screwdriver and release the latches that hold the top to the bottom cover. With a larger screwdriver, release the front cover latches by inserting the screwdriver between the spacebar and top cover and pull towards the front and up. Tilt the top cover up from the front to back to remove. Remove the 2 screws that secure the power supply unit and lift from center-to left and then manke necessary repairs to the switch. run jumpers if necessary. Assemble in reverse order> Good Luck
iiyama573, Visit YOUTUBE and search and view the longer video clips of "LCD monitor disassembly" and "LCD repair" to see how a typical cover is removed. 12fixlouie on fixya
Please check first if your LCD monitor is still under Warranty period, if yes, then I recommend to bring the unit to authorized service center to properly diagnose & fix the problem, because if you open it yourself & probably broken its seal then the Warranty will be Void & other problem/s that may arise / found will no longer be covered by their free service / part replacement.
If no longer covered by a Warranty, then you can open it by yourself, by turning (counterclockwise) its lock screws to open its back cover & check the circuit board parts / connections if loose/broken/defective. regards
j1hoo2, You will just have to go to YOUTUBE and search for things like::: lcd monitor disassembly or lcd monitor repair, or bad caps in lcd monitors, or repair of monitor SMPS/INVERTER power supplys. Yes!!! I have seen a couple of vids that show how to unsnap the rear plastic cover from the front bezel. That is the hardest part to do after removal of the monitor PEDESTAL. I'm louie12fix on fixya, or lmistyrel@ aol.com
ps I've also heard that really dull table knives may work and also an old credit/swipe-card might work also.. I mean did an elephant step on the monitor on/off button???? Come-on, their not supposed to FAIL !!!
