Completely arbitrary message..if it still works, don't worry about it. Of coourse the mfr wants to sell you a new printer, just like when the ink says its empty and it isn't.

Dont forget to rate the advice.

The status of my printer (epson stylus c45)is idle. There's this yellow exclamation point before the message-Service Required then...inside the dialogue box it's written that Parts inside your printer are...

You will need to get it serviced at an authorized Epson Repair shop as the parts that are at the end of service life are not user servicable. With the price of printers today it would be cheaper to buy a new one with updated technology than to try and have this one refurbished. Hope this helps.

There is the message that some part of the printer are out of life.see printer document.my printer is epson c45.how to fix this

Superhiway is correct in one regard: more information helps..

Unfortunately he/she provided a link to a post about Canon printers when you have an Epson C45 so it won't help at all.

Right... the problem, based on your original information is that your printer has reported that "parts inside the printer have reached the end of their service life". The short version for this is "baby wants a nappy/diaper changing".

To resolve this you need two things...
  1. The SCC utility to install on your computer (Windows only) and reset the waste ink counter

  2. A service manual to take the printer apart enough to either (I couldn't find the C45 manual but the link runs to a copy of the C42 version which should be very similar)
  • Replace the waste ink pads
    OR...
  • redirect the waste ink flow to an external tank.

With the Epson C45 the process isn't impossible but you will get a bit messy... There are lots of resources out there for this sort of thing though so a little googling should help too...

Hope this gets you started ok.

most problem with printers are dirt inside. if you want to experiment, try opening the printer, usually held by snaps, if accomplished clean all contacts, cables ribbon wires, then reassemble. thats easier said than done.

Hi,

The most help I can offer is a link to a utility program designed to reset most (if not all) parameters of a variety of Epson printer models. You need to determine if said utility program will work with your particular model. This utility is SSC Service Utility for Epson Stylus Printers and may be downloaded from here. Additional information may be viewed here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Epson stylus c45 (Problem)

If both lights are flashing, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C45 Service Manual". You will often find them
for sale very cheaply on E-Bay.
